All forms of bleaching will damage you hair - that's how they work. They open up your hair cuticle and then destroy the colour molecules. Peroxide, lemon juice, water & sunlight, baking soda - thay will all damage your hair and make it lighter. You cannot make your hair lighter without damaging it.

Just about the only 'natural' thing I can think of (besides lemon juice) is the sun. I know the summers I spent at camp as a kid gave me what looked like coppery highlights on otherwise dark brown hair. But there aren't really any foolproof, at-home methods for lightening your hair. In the long run, your best bet would be to go to the salon.

Corn starch brushed via the hair, preferably with a circular ordinary bristle brush is a quality solution to gets rid of oils, adding while one fails to heed the recommendation, "A lil dab'll do ya, however a lil extra'll screw ya.". Vinegar used as a rinse balances the pH and seals the cuticle, making the hair glossier. Natural oils and fat, similar to in mayonnaise, olive oil, and many others., will have quality advantages, however be warned: their molecular measurement is such that they are able to penetrate the scalp and intent clogged pores. Petrolatum and mineral oil, although no longer "ordinary", are honestly much less allergenic and non-comedogenic, when you consider that their higher molecular measurement prevents them doing that. But a shampoo that involves most important fatty acids at the same time being oil loose is far bigger.
