.....and why is this such an important part of the religion? Leastwise so much emphasis being put on these "72 virgins" after the start if the Iraqi war. Does this same promise also apply to females if they die as martyrs? In both the Islam religion as well as Christianity, there seems to be quite a bit of emphasis on sex! It gives pause to a lingering question about the real meanings behind the different religions. Some of the verses in both the Bible and the Quran, as well as the Torah and the first five books of the Bible are so archaic! as well as being confusing.(With reference to God or Allah or Jehovah or any other reference to an Almighty...Did HE really mean there to be so much confusion?)

Nowhere, because that's not in the Quran. That's a 5th grade joke somebody who knows nothing about Islam made up about muslims. At least you are doing your own research now, though. Peace.

You don't!!! That is not a part of Islam and it is not an important part of Islam. That is junk made up by evil clerics who use this great religion to justify their violence. Don't worry they will also have to answer for their actions at the end of time just like all of us. As far as sex goes it can be a big problem in all societies and it is the engine that drives all of humanity so it must be controlled. How much better would our society be if everyone waited until marriage to have sex and everyone was faithful to their spouse and we did not use anorexic super models and sex to sell our goods? For instance my daughter is 13 and she has developed in the last couple of years and she has problems with boys at school because of it which interrupts her studies. If these boys had been brought up in a society that didn't treat women as sex objects to sell stuff this wouldn't be an issue.

As far as confusion just read the second commandment...it's pretty clear when it says there is only one God and you will not put any god before him.

The translation this tall story comes from is one in Syro-Aramaic not Arabic - hence the confusion. The Qu'uran promises 72 virgins, not 72 raisins. Of course, fundamentally, raisins are no more ridiculous a promise than virgins, and virgins are no more ridiculous a promise than the "eternal life" Christian doctrine promises in the bible.

But slow, unthinking people seem to have a hard time accepting reality, always have, always will, I suppose....

The only jazz about the chicks waiting in Heaven in the Q is :

2:25 And give glad tidings (O Muhammad) unto those who believe and do good works; that theirs are Gardens underneath which rivers flow; as often as they are regaled with food of the fruit thereof, they say: this is what was given us aforetime; and it is given to them in resemblance. There for them are pure companions; there for ever they abide.

The other stuff is in the HADITH!

It isn't in the Qur'an, it's in hadith....... and 3:7 says all other hadith are allegorical (other than the Qur'an) so it is a non-issue, really, it was written by men.

the Bible is not confusing. Also, it is not meant to be understood all at once. Often when I am reading I understand something new or see something that I didn't see before. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher and He helps us to understand.

You won't find any referance. It was a lie perpetuated to get uneducated young Islamic men to kill themselfs for the cause. You don't exactly see any of the Islamic big wigs lining up to kill themselfs...................Now do ya? :)
