Are you guys alike? My mom and I had such a tumultous relationship until I moved six hours away. Now I talk to her three times a day... We fought all the time when I was a teenager... and she is VERY VERY NOSY. STILL. I am 25 years old. She still likes to know everyone's business, and she likes to tell me gossip about people i dont even know. I always tell her i do not care and to stop talking about things... it is just in her nature. She may treat you like a stranger because you have hurt her feelings in a way, even though we don't understand why they have to be in our business... I think they feel like they are either protecting us or watching out for us in some mixed up kinda way... good luck...

The only logical answer that I could think of IS moving out. If money is a big issue for you then try to rent a cheap studio (though you may struggle a bit) or go half with a roommate in a two bedroom. I've noticed a lot of college students renting two bedrooms (with a lot of sq. ft.) and dividing them in half so 4 people would be paying the rent of 1 or 2. Also, houses are pretty cheap when there's 3 or so bedrooms with 3+ people with income. Maybe this would have to force your mother into realizing that you are a grown-up and aren't her little baby anymore. Maybe she'd be more protective about you but then she really couldn't do anything to enforce that if you did move.
Good luck! Hope I helped. =)

My mother had always been overprotective too there is nothing i can do and I am a guy. your not the only one i am 19 and when i move out to college she wanted me to call everyday, let her know what i was doing and even visted me when i did't even know she was coming. i was 2 hours away and she treated me like i was 10. get a job like i am trying to do save money then deside if you want to move out. try to resovle this with her and if it does not work then move out. remember that she loves you and it is hard for a mother to lose a child.

Sad to say but if you live under her roof... she has some right, not all rights, to know what you are doing
You need to move out , maybe get a room mate to insure you get the privacy you want before there is a falling out.

Well.... until you get a job and can move out on your own... you're stuck at Nosy Mom Headquarters. Living there just gives her a license to be overprotective and nosy. And you not moving out on your own gives her the idea that you like it. Get a job....get out... make it more difficult for her to be nosy.

As long as you live in her house, she is always going to stick her nose in your business because she's trying to do her job as a parent. you should try to get a steady job and move out as soon as possible because you dont want to ruing your relationship with your mother.

You need to work on getting out on your own or with a friend. Try to get a life of your own and don't let what she says ruin it. Very hard to be independent when you live at home. Good Luck!

seems to be only one solution. find a steady job and move out. probably easeir to do than you think. anybody that owes you any favors is someone that you might try talking to. only way to get a good job is through somebody you already know.
