No one seriously questions the existence of things that actually exist such as dogs, cats, the Sun or Moon.

The fact that people ask questions about God's existence is conclusive proof God does not exist.

Pudding, my dear, I have never claimed that "aliens put us here."

I told you that I consider the entire universe to be "alive" and that "life" is ubiquitous throughout the universe. And that life as we know was probably the result of microbes landing on earth and finding a hospitable environment.

Panspermia is the technical term and it as logical to me as any other claim.

If you are going to quote me, get it right.

Okay????

Y'all can say whatever you want. I've asked over 100 questions and y'all ain't gonna call me anything I haven't already been called.

Part of the quaintness of the Internet, the ability to insult total strangers without risk of serious bodily injury...

:-)

If I wasn't having fun, I wouldn't be here.

got jorge, if the frontal lobe is removed, a person won't feel any emotions at all. Does that mean God is the frontal lobe and unique to each individual?

There, is that better?

I change that stupid picture more often than... well, quite often.

God believers claim they know God exists.

If existence cannot be demonstrated, the assertion is unsupportable.

God believers cannot support their claims with evidence. And, since they cannot, their God's existence is questioned.

It is questioned because their God does not exist. If it did, there would be no questions related to its existence.

Pudding,

I see nothing that claims "aliens put us here."

2006-10-01 10:57:32 · update #6

Despite Pudding's effort to sidetrack the issue, the subject is not evolution or how life came to be on the earth.

The question relates to the non-existence of God, which is totally unrelated to evolution or anything else.

Lack of irrefutable evidence that proves his existence is what causes people to ask questions about whether he's "real" or not.

Since they can't find any proof, they rely on faith to acknowledge his being. Luckily I use logic and reasoning; therefore, he doesn't exist. :-)

My answer to you is simple Prove it, prove he does not exist, your idea behind the question is wrong as there are many things in the world that we question, things that we can not prove either way, and no matter what you say, or how many times this same old question is put on yahoo, it can NOT be proved he does, or does not exist. So why go on about a God you don't believe in, I find it hard to understand how so many people go on and on about there not being a God, OK so why spend so much time going on about something you don't believe in????, I wounder just how many of you are scared to even thing that he may be real, why scared because it would shatter everything you believe in, it would make you seem so unimportant you would not be able to cope, so the easy way to deal with it is to deny it.
Many people get to busy reading the bible and religion, man made things to control the world.
Why do i believe in God, how do I believe in God, well for a start I don't believe in man kind, why take a look around, I believe in God because he there for me, how do i know well he's all around you, I can't explain, but if you had seen, or could see what I see you would not doubt the Faith I have in God.

Love & Peace

Because when man sinned against God he ran and hid. Man has been trying to hide ever since. But since you cant hide from God then lets say he doesnt exist...we wont have to run and hide any more. But i dont think there is such a thing as a true atheist. A true atheist would let us live our Christain lives foolishly with no questions asked. But if God does exist which i think he does then who will be the bigger fool huh?

JT, you gave me an excellent answer to my God question but I have to disagree with you here, and I'm afraid I have to invoke the horrible old Australia defence (works for me, as I haven't been there; maybe you have).

Well, that felt as good as swallowing a peeled lemon.

As you well know you will never get conclusive proof of God's non-existence. You will also never get conclusive proof of her[?] existence, for precisely the opposite reason.

Science (at least those branches of it that mess with statistics) works to the null hypothesis and accepts proof on the basis of extreme unlikelyhood of something NOT being true. In this case you flip it round: the null hypothesis is actually that God DOES exist. But the method still works.

You call 'Panspermia' logical, no wonder you have a problem with the logical evidence for the existence of a supernatural Creator.
We have a scientific law called the Law of Biogenesis which says that life cannot just simply arise of its own accord from non-life under any known circumstances. Panspermia is a desperate attempt by evolutionists to come up with an explanation of how life could have arisen on earth in defiance of this law.
Someone needs to tell them that natural law applies to whole material universe, not just the earth. There is every bit as much difficulty in explaining how life could have originated in space, on another planet, on a comet or anywhere else in the universe, as there is on earth.
It makes absolutely no difference.

It is just unbelievable what unbelievers are willing to believe, in order to remain unbelievers.

That is why people ask questions about the existence of God.

There are none so blind as those who do not wish to see.

actually i dont quite agree here
the universe is huge and many people through their own findings have sufficient proof ( for them ) that there is some other life forms out there
but this proof and evidence isnt always acceptable for everyone
i believe this to be the same for those who believe in a creator
sometimes we have enough personal evidence for ourself that suggests there is a God force ... but this is perhaps not enough for others to accept
so if someone questions something it doesnt make it not so ... it just makes it questionable

The very fact that questions are asked about HIS (God) existence is proof that he does 'exist' because we seek to understand what is unknown to us.

Yes dogs, cats, the Sun or Moon exist but why. How do 'you' know you exist? I mean, can you really be sure of anything. Once you are sure then you ask 'why' you exist. This is the question that is most troubling.

This one is easy peasy mate, and there is no conclusive proof in your question whatsoever. The Devil is clever AND a liar. Therefore, he, is what makes people question GOD's existence. This is how Satan gains his followers and finds it hilarious when people believe his lies and deceit. The Devil does not make us question the sun or the moon or cats and dogs, because he does not seek to Rival them. Plus the fact of how could anyone deny what they can see? Its a case of dont belive the lies, try this if you want, ask Jesus into your heart and you will be able to feel what is real. Godd luck xx

Has anyone actually seen your brain , but no-one can deny you have one , why , because of the evidence they can see , same with God , you cannot see Him but there's plenty of evidence of His existence , the reason no-one seriously questions the existence of dogs , cats , the sun or moon is because we can actually see these things , not just the evidence of there existence . Questioning the existence of something is not proof it doesn't exist , it only shows that God gave us the power of conscious thought , thereby proving he does exist . Job done

Scientists asked questions on whether or not other planets existed in the galaxy, and we've found alot more than we expected. The fact that people ask questions about something's existence is not 'conclusive proof' that it doesn't exist, wherever that idea came from.
