--Is Catholic--

The Catholic Church possesses a special charism that allows her to determine if you have a vocation. Thus what you should be doing is talking to your priest who can put you in contact with a vocations director.

If you feel that God is calling you to be a priest, it is important that you take this to the Church. There are some pointers that I could give that indicate that you MAY have a vocation, but only the Church can decide if you actually DO.

Might I suggest that while you are deciding to talk to a priest that you spend time before the Blessed Sacrament as well as work on developing your prayer life? Reading the Church Fathers and other spiritual writings should also be a part of your life.

For your own interest might I suggest the series/documentary
God or the Girl
which you can buy or get through Netflix

God bless!

Ususally we have a strong attraction to the vocation that God calls us to. Sometimes children are not exposed to the religous life because their parents do not put them in the company of priests and nuns and so the child knows little about the religious life and therefore has no idea if it is what God calls him to do. A good thing to do in this case or otherwise is to go on a retreat....preferably Ignatian if possible. Talk to priests about discerning your vocation and of course pray to the Blessed Mother. There are many different kinds of Religious Orders. You must find the one that suits your characteristics and personality. Some religous orders are about joy such as the Franciscans and some are about leading an more serious life. Look into the Fraternity of St. Peter. They are traditional and approved by the Vatican and have a spirituality that is different from most seminaries. All of the priests I have met that have come from their seminaries are well-rounded and level-headed. Best of wishes.

I would say first, you should definitely talk to your parish priest.

It depends on your age?? You have lots of time on your side, if you are young and inexperienced, with many questions to ask yourself. One being, can I live my life as a Roman Catholic priest, meaning, MUCH, sacrifice, a life of celibacy, being one giant step, towards those ends.

I certain wish you all the luck in the world, and I'm not even an RC. .....but I am Christan, and I do know, You, will know in time, if you do have a true calling!

This is a very intimate and personal decision.

It sounds like you hear God calling you to the priesthood.

There are many people out there waiting patiently for you to contact them. They will help you discern your calling and guide you on your journey.

Contact the Office for Vocations at your diocesan headquarters and tell them your story. If you don't know how to contact them, ask your local parish for the information.

With love and prayers in Christ.

as the preisthood is not an easy life -- you still feel drawn to it -- pray my brother - pray! God would not put that in your heart, especially in these troubled times if it was not your mustard seed - growing with God is the only way to go. i recommend talking to your spiritual advisoy for one these boards you will find - some live and encouragement but more deterants to God's plan for you. If you do not have an advisor or know of a priest you can speak - email those of us who've given you true advice and possibly we can direct you to someone (not knowing what city/state in which you reside).
God bless and keep you!

My best bet is that you should be asking a priest rather than people on Yahoo! Answers. Personally, I would say if you feel God is so important that you wouldn't mind giving up everything forever just to pray to Him, and aid Him on Earth. Again though, that's what first comes to my mind. Speak with a priest.

Pray to help you discern if this is where you should be in your life. If you feel compelled to seek the teachings of God, then this is the direction you should take. Seek the advice of your spiritual director. He will be able to guide you.

So you want to join an apostate cult? You need to talk to John Hagee. He'll straighten you out in ten seconds flat.
