It makes sense to me that women were considered unclean during menstruation because they didn't use tampons. Don't you feel icky when you're on yours, Journey?
Anyway, I haven't heard about the praying thing with Muslim women, but I CAN say that as a Christian, praying during menstruation was one of the ways I really came to know God existed, lol.

All of the Abrahamic death cults (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) believe that a woman is "unclean" during menstruation and up to six weeks after giving birth. Nice, huh?

No the Quran would not say something approximately it yet tell me why some thing significant like that wasn't pronounced in the Quran and became left to Bukhari and others to let us know approximately it . Quran is finished , Allah reported He left not something outdoors the Quran yet we don't have faith Allah whilst He says so . Allah did not forget approximately to let us know to not pray for the time of menses , it became left on objective . The be conscious menstruation became pronounced in the Quran yet purely approximately not having intercourse for the time of it , it wasn't confusing for Allah to declare additionally in regards to the menstruating women human beings shouldn't pray or rapid . Prophet Muhamed forbid his hadiths to be written , he became not keen in any respect in documenting them because of the fact he left us not something however the Quran , it quite is the only message he left for us . Muslims bypass after the conjectures of hadiths that have been written 2 hundred+ after the dying of the prophet , they bypass to the uncertainty and bypass away what's definite and previous any doubt .

we cannot pray or fast on our period for two reasons:
the first reason is that as we know there is some bacteria in menstrual blood.and one of the conditions or pray is that you have to be in a clean state.
the second reason is that it would be hardship on women to pray and especially fast on our period.so Allah banned the women from praying and fasting for this reason.(which is really a mercy because i get really bad cramps and bloating when i get my period.)
p.s whenever a man and woman have sex they cannot pray until they have taken a full bath.because the fluids that got on to each other during sex is considered unclean as well.
