Please look at my questions and tell me why would I get many answers on the question about your mother and zero on the question about your father? Do fathers play no role in our lives anymore? Or what could be the reason? This is just very interesting to me and perhaps you have the answer for me. Thank you!

When a football player makes a touch down and they show him on camera, what does he say? "HI MOM!!" I think that because moms are the nurturers, we tend to think of them first. It's not that father's don't play a role in our up bringing, because they are very important and influential, but it's that mother/child bond thing I think.

Both my parents best characteristics were that they were loving caring people. They also had a lot of inner strength, which drew people to them as friends.

Timing has a little to do with getting answers. Depending on when I am on-line, I get a great difference in questions to choose. Also, people think more about mothers in this society. Fathers are very important and usually unseen when divorce is involved. It is a bum rap so to speak. Cut the divorce rate, encourage fathers to spend more time away from work, encourage families to attend church together and you get more involvement from fathers. Anyone can tell you that fathers are very important. Most who know anything will also tell you that they are sadly absent, and it really hurts society and individuals.

Fathers and mothers have an equal role in their children's lives! Although sometimes others seem to disregard this either for the mother or the father! This is sad when this happens! The best thing anyone can do for their children is try their best to respect the Other parent whether mother or father! And they should also teach their children to do the same thing!

It all depends on what culture you are from. This is why you have not received any answers. In America white fathers are much more involved in their children's lives than blacks. So are Hispanic fathers. This is not seen in all cases of black society but due to the fact that more black women have children out of wedlock that the other groups it is so with more frequency. There are also such cases in all ethnic groups. In many cases fathers have to spend more time st the workplace these days in America also. This is another factor But you do not say where you are located or what your background is.

In todays world, must men work 2 jobs to support thier families. Or the marriage ended and they play no active roll or have limited visitation to play any roll....You have a valid question and it is very good....I know I break my butt to make sure I play an active roll in my daughters life. I was unable to do this with my older kids because between my x wife and the courts I was black balled from it.....My kids suffered and now they hate me....This is the way most fathers and kids end up during divorce...Hope that helps

good fathers play a big role. they work and bring home the money. they play sports with thier sons and treat thier daughters like they would want a guy to treat them when they are older. they talk to both about life, the future, the past and everything else. that is how i was raised.. my dad was the best for a long time. and i grew up in a neighborhood where dads and moms together were almost unheard of.

I seen the questions but I could not answer either of them. Both of my parents passed away years ago. The question about the father's characteristics, some kids may not have their father around.

Personally, my father was crap. He beat my mom and molested me, so I really have a hard time finding any good qualities in him. I know many other people, who had fathers worse than mine.

i think if someone found a way for a man to have a baby then he will be held more accountable for that child. until then he can pretty much walk away and pay child support without mentally ever supporting the child...
