what are some items that marines in iraq would like and need? I got a few stuff like beef jerky, gum, qtips, juice packets to insert in cantines, a few books and stuff, but just stuff they need. Me and my family are going to get 3 schools into drives and stuff to write and send stuff to iraq.
Thanks for your answers, these marines appreciate it.

I'd love to send to Army and Navy too but the only branch i can get to is Marines, my mom works at a Marine building. Also what kinds of books would they like?

Many of these are good ideas but you need to remember that when sending to Iraq there are many many restricions on what can be sent. Also right now mail to many Forgien countries has been suspended. Usually the best way to do it is to find a Unit, or command that is able to accept your gift and let them help you distibute or stat by getting one pen pal and asking him what he needs for his unit. I know depending on where they are stationed really determines what they need. My cousin needed losts and lost of lip balm while my husband needed lots of warming things. Anyway as I said before the best thing yu can possibly do if you really want to know what they need or want is to ask.
God Bless you for thinking of our military members.

I was thinking about doing something like this for our service folks in Iraq. Since I have a question that's along theses lines, I won't post another question, I'll just ask here. Where do we send these items? I think it's the least we could do!

Thanks for asking such a great question!

Hand sanitizers, puzzle books, personal hygiene things like deodorant, razors, toothbrushes/paste.
Pen-pal addresses!! Hard candy (nothing that would melt).
Off duty, they are BORED--so decks of cards, dice, card games, trivia, etc.
Bless your hearts, and don't forget Army and Navy too.
My son is going there in 3 weeks.

That's a very good idea. I would like to do something like that here, but I have no idea where to find out where to send anything like that. With Christmas coming up, that could help them to know that we love and appreciate them.
