Yes! Both are communicable diseases. All medial staff are trained in infection control measures. If they are following good techniques and universal precautions they don't need to worry about catching or spreading either.
You can look up both infection control and universal precautions to find out what they mean and what they encompass.

I'm not sure about Leprosy, but Herpes is a communicable diease. It can be passed to others through sexual contact, and something as simple as sitting on the same toilet as someone else. There is supressive medication to help slow down break outs of herpes. During a break out is the time that this diease is spread.

Leprosy's pretty rare and can be treated with antibiotics. Herpes, though, is a virus, and a nasty one at that. But usual gloves and protective clothing are plenty to deal with herpes (open lesions, I mean.) Herpes really needs skin-to-skin contact (genitals-to-mouth, or mouth-to-mouth, or genitals-to-eye...ugh. Herpes is gross! Wear condoms and don't touch an active outbreak! Gross!) I doubt doctors would do anything more than the usual preventive measures--it's not like herpes just jumps across the room and bites you. And leprosy is in, um, armadillos. And sometimes in people in like, the slums in Calcutta or some hellhole place with no antibiotics. But neither is much of a big deal for doctors--I mean, they don't poke their bare hands in a wound, and they don't poke their bare hands in a herpes sore.
It's just common sense and common practices.

Yes, those are both communicable diseases. There is not a complete cure but there is medicine out there to help out breaks.
