Like I know alot of people just check their horoscopes in local magazines, but I know there is a correct way to use Astrology. Therefore I would love it if someone could elaborate on the origins, and true use of Astrology.

Go to astrology.com,they are very good,you can ask them any question you have,if you wish to get a report of any kind ,Have your place of birth,time & date of birth,they are extremely accurate. and low priced. A natal chart will astound you.

I am not an expert but I suppose my mother is who has taught and done astrological charts for 35 years.
The stuff you read in the paper is useless as it is just regarding the sun sign. If you think of a pie cut into 12 pieces, each one of those pieces represent certain aspects of life, first section how people see you, second section your money, third how you communicate.
The next area is at the time you were born and the latitude and longiture to true greenwich time (it is very mathmatical) the astrologer figures out how the planets were aligned at the moment of your birth. Then they put them in to 12 section pie by degrees.
So what does all that mean? Well lets say that you are born in November and your a Scorpio - that is your sun sign. This is how you appear to others but depending on what section of the pie it is in is how it is displayed. If it is in the second house of money you could be secretive and possessive of your money. If your sun sign in Scorpio is in the 7th section which is marriage you could be jealousy and possessive in marriage.
Now that is just the first sign - then you have to do the moon - you could be a scorpio sun but a virgo moon which would actually mean that you analzye all your emotions instead of what a scorpio would do is feell them deeply.
There is also then mars how you expend your energy - mercury - how you communicate- venus - how you love -
Then when all that is done then there is what is called aspects so if the moon was 90 degrees and the sun was degree to be exacatly opposite that is called an opposition - these are things in life that make life more difficult. There are also squares that are difficult and then there are trines and sextiles that are things that are easy in life.
What does all this boil down to - if you have your astrology chart done by someone that is knoweledgable they can tell you about what you were born with - where your trouble areas are and your easy areas (sometimes they are so easy we abused them).
Then there is a chart called a progressive chart this takes the chart of when you were born and then takes one currently and a bit into the future and doing the mathmatical figuring to determine what areas will be problematic. Like health problems, possible marriage, job change, deaths etc.
I know that this was quite lengthy - I hope that it has been some what useful. Summed up - it is to figure out the future and act or adjust according.

This my opinion on this subject it was illustrated to me in a psychology class. There is no real reason for astrology other than taking your money. The is nothing more than a simple mind trick similar to what magicians perform for entertainment. If you go to a magic show and watch the tricks they are fun to watch but you know there is a trick to it even though you don't know how its done. Readers or Astrologers are using your ability to imagine things and making sense out of it even though it doesn't make sense at all. This very real problem causes real researchers problems because of the placebo effect. That's my answer I'm sticking to it

i dont like horoscopes as i dont feel everyone with the same sign could be experiencing the same things
what i have seen is birth charts .. my daughter had one done when she was born and as i watched her grow i couldnt believe how like the chart she was
a birth chart is concerned with what your star sign position is in accordance to the place you live and the exact time you were born ... and what the other planets are doing in conjunction with your own sign
it may be coincidence that my daughters one was spot on .. but it would make more sense than silly horoscopes
