i work at a restaurant, and my boss is a church going christian i was told not to let him know i'm a pagan because he would fire me, now i know if he fires me over my religious beliefs i can sue :)
so it doesnt really bother me if he knows or not, so do you think i should hide my religious beliefs from my boss or not? because i think he will eventualy find out, you dont know my situation he will find out i just need to know if i should hide it better or not.
P.S.
i'm looking for another job, but i need this one untill i find another.

While it is illegal to be fired for your religious beliefs, suing and winning is another matter entirely. Most employers that discriminate are well versed in the law and will find other good reason to terminate your employment and will usually have documentation to back them up.
There is no reason to advertise your religious beliefs. You are not Christian, that is their territory, not ours.
Even in these modern times, we loose children in custody battles, loose jobs, receive threats all because we are Pagan.
Some Pagans follow the Laws of The Magus.
To Know
To Dare
To Will
To Keep Silent
You may want to meditate on these before disclosing your religious choice to your employer. Not telling doesn't make you any less Pagan.

Religion is a topic that doesn't come up very often for me at work. I remember my parents' advice, "Don't speak in public about sex, politics or religion.". Sometimes the subject has come up, but I am usually vague and I try to use terms that most of the people around me can relate with. I almost always give the "short answer". I'm not ashamed of my beliefs, but neither do I hang a neon sign over my head. Those who really know me, know the basics about my religious beliefs. Those who don't really know me have no need to have that information.
People in the restaraunt business can be a bit quirky. Long ago I can remember getting fired for talking to others before work about astrology. It happens, but thankfully, it doesn't happen often. As others have said, suing can be expensive and difficult to prove. Especially if you live in an "at will" state.
I hope you find another job soon and in the meantime, I hope your current boss will give you the same respect that you give him.

Cross that bridge when you come to it. You seem to be dying to tell him anyway if that be the case then do it. If your looking for another job by the time he finds out your beliefs then you may have another job anyway. Still religious beliefs don't need to be discussed at work. Only if someone comes right out and ask you a question. I think your looking for trouble where there is none. Give it a rest maybe your information about you boss is wrong. He hired you didn't he? Your their to work just do your job.

I wouldn't hide your opinions, but don't advertise them either. While you are quite correct, and you could sue over wrongful termination, it would be a major hassle and expense for you. And it is not a sure thing that yo would win. If your boss is clever and puts a real effort into it, he can almost certainly find some legally acceptable reason to fire you as a smokescreen to your religion. Good luck.

It's like anything else in your life you pick what you want to tell people. If you were cheating would you tell your partner? And as far as your boss goes believe me if he wanted to fire you on those grounds he can make it so it wouldn't appear that it was over this reason (I had this done to me with something different). Besides if he is a christian he would never think of firing you over his own judgement of your believes he just wouldn't pray in the same place as you. Why are you looking for another job? Why do you care what a Christian thinks about you. You need to be proud of your believes and not let anyone make you ashamed of them.

If your boss says he is a christian, then he is a lousy one. I am a Christian and so is my boss, but we have quite a few people who aren't. A true Christian doesn't judge people for such things, I don't care if a person is gay, the line gets crossed if that person tries to shove their belief on me,including other Christians. Christ never instructed us to shove our faith on people, he said for us to be a light to the world, letting our lives be the testimony. Your boss doesn't have a clue.

If your boss is truly a Christian, he will NOT fire you because you are not a Christian. And if your boss is a true Christian, I'm sure he cares about you, and would not mind if he found out about you. If he is NOT a true believer, he probably might fire you, but as you said u can sue him, still, it is best not to take the chance. If he finds out, he finds out.

It's a huge no-no to discuss religion in the workplace. No one has any right to ask you, and you don't need to tell anyone. I think, in your situation, it would be wisest to just keep your mouth shut. Why woud you need to discuss your personal spirituality in a restaurant, anyway.
I am personally a very proud pagan, and if someone directly asks me, I'm happy to tell them. BUT, that doesn't mean I spout my faith off to the world at large like some born-again christian. That is just asking for trouble in this largely intolerant and hateful world.

If hes gonna find out anyway, then tell him now. He shouldn't treat you any differently than anyone else because of your religion, and if he is a true christian, he won't look at you any different than before he knew you were Pagan

I'd try and keep it from him. Yes, you could sue him if he sacks you, but there's a lot of time and money involved in that, and a chance you could lose and have to pay costs if he get's a good defence team. Just stick it out until you get another job.
