hair grows out of hair follicles ( called roots)
all over the skin of the scalp.

The hair grows continually and tiny glands either side , of the hair shaft, produce an oily substance, that coats the hair, so hairs won't dry out and become brittle .
Sometimes these glands over-produce, giving oily hair ,

Dandruff ( the little white flakes you describe)
are from the skin of the scalp, which sheds its outer layer.

In certain conditions ( very dry or damaged skin)
this shows as dandruff

without trying to sound like i know it all (cause nobody does) that lil white tip is like a plug so that it can fit into the scalp and stay there, theres this thing there thats like a muscle there that makes it stay there so it doesnt fall out, and thats why it hurts when your hair gets pulled

The little bulb at the end of the hair is probably there so our hair doesnt just fall out of the pores! Its like why do flowers have bulbs (roots), so they can grow and not fall out of the ground.

It's like plants that have roots. We need to have follicles to grow hair.
Oh yeah I almost forgot. The roots help us to tell the difference between a real blond and a bleach blond!

That's the manufacturing spot that produces hair. There are blood vessels that feed the root allowing it to make hair.
