It will receive HD programmes if anyone transmits them where you are. I think Sky now have an HD channel but you have to subscribe.

You dont have to buy an HD box, but you wouldnt be doing the television justice. Bell express Vu has the best selection of HD channels. The picture on the HD channels is unreal. I wish all tv programmes were in HD...

Yes but you need a good aerial, a dish is best but viewing on Sky will cost more cash. The terrestial channels aren't doing it at the moment. Beware some supposed HD readys are only 72% ready.
The Sky box will convert for you but to my knowledge they are the only ones transmitting HD as well as sub HD programs.

A cable box with hd output will do get that from any cable company.
