Why should I support something that caused the death of our countrymen(family and friends) and other innocent civilians?
9/11 certainly could've been avoided, without a doubt.
So why should I support it?

Oh Please, dont be silly.
9/11 could have been avoided.
The government knew the situation, were threatened repeatedly, but did nothing about it.
Only AFTER 9/11, did they start the heavy security policies.
Plus, Bush wanted a war on Iraq for revenge against Sadam, who tried to kill his daddy.
What did the search for Bin-Laden have to do with Sadam?
So yeah, it could have been avoided

Don't support it if you don't want to. Nobody is saying you have to.

Pearl Harbor could've been avoided. WW2 could've been avoided. You should support it because at this point we either win or lose. If we pull out now, while the Iraqis can't even manage their own country themselves, the terrorists will take over and we'll see Afghanistan with a lot of oil money. If we stay the course and slowly pull out as the Iraqis start to manage their own affairs more and more, we could see a strong Democracy emerge. The terrorists seem to know what winning Iraq would mean to their cause, we as a society don't.
I honestly don't care what the Iraqi "people" think. Just like the people here in the US, possibly moreso, their opinion is irrelevant to making an intelligent decision. "The People" tend to make decisions based upon little to no facts.

First of all, you don't have to support the war, it is your right not to. However, I am interested in knowing exactly how 9/11 could have been avoided? If it wasn't 9/11, then it would have been 9/12 or 10/11. There are people and places that truly hate this country, so even if 9/11 didn't happen, something else was bound to.

fyi to the guy who blames clinton about 9/11 ummm...Bush actually got reports from the FBI about 9/11 that he did not pay attention to...an interesting bit of video to watch is the 9/11 commition that Bush did not recognize and did not want to listen to because he knew he was at fault, yet he had Rice go to. I agree you can not support a war that has nothing to do with 9/11 in the first place...I mean the whole thing in Iraq was not about 9/11 Suddam Hussein had no hand in that...the war in Afghanistan supposedly over...But wait Mr. Bin Laden is still out and about so how was that a success?

You don't have to go out of your way to support it, but understand that there's more at stake than just your feelings. Most people who don't support the war against terrorism don't understand what terrorists are about, and think that we can talk them into submission. We can't. They have made it clear they wish to destroy America and the West, by any means possible. The old adage "United we Stand, Divided we Fall" is very appropriate here. We can't win this conflict if liberals are determined to keep sticking our collective head in the terrorist's noose. 9/11 may have been avoidable at one point, maybe not. But it happened, and complaining about it doesn't change anything. Only action will make a difference.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

You don't have to do anything or support anything that you don't want to, assuming you live here in America, that is. I hope you are not hearing this for the first time, but this is a free country. We have freedom of speech and freedom of expression and all kinds of other good stuff that are guaranteed by our Constitution.
As long as you don't break any laws you can do pretty much whatever you want here in the good old United States.
You don't have to support anything that you don't want to support.

No, it couldn't have been avoided. The muslims want your head. They would have struck sooner or later. Clinton Ignored the 1993 attack on World Trade, and they came back 9-11-01. There are some things that can't be ignored or avoided. So support the war and the troops. Or it will cost you your life and mine.

Well I guess the US could declare itself Muslim and install thier law system. That could have avoided 911, but the terrorsts have a record of attacking the US over the past 10 years before that.
And if you are a US citizen you should support our government because it is your government and we do that because good citizens do that. You can disagree and show that at the voting booth, but as a nation we have a duty and honor of following our government in times of war.
But yes we could have gave up to every enemy we have ran up against, but at times war is needed to protect the nation from far worst

the only way you could have avoided 9/11 is by converting to strict islam.
Which means, for example, killing all the gays, anyone who drinks even a beer, or any girl with uncovered hair, or any woman who wishes to work, or wants a divorce
Don't believe me? read transcripts of OBL's video tapes
And you should support this war simply because you might want to have ANY rights in your own society

You should not support the war but you should support the men and women who are over there. Whether its because they feel they have to be in the military or they suffer from brainwash due to our government telling us what they are doing is right. Its still their job. For many in the services that was their option for a future and thanks to this war they might not even have one.
