my 11 year old has bad wiping habits. there are always little skidmarks and such in his underwear and i've made it a point to tell him, yet they keep appearing.
should i have him get a weekly check from now on where i test to see if it's clean? maybe that will help him wipe better? how exactly would i do it though?

Maybe the skids marks are from juice accompanying his gas. My feeling with kids and wiping is that if they want to leave crud up there and go around with an itchy, stinky butt so be it. They will grow out of it. Maybe have a guy talk to him. If he is old enough to have pubic hair little pieces could be getting stuck in it.
Maybe buy some cottonelle moist flushable wipes for him. And, maybe getting a male to talk to him.

Hi sometimes it happens to adults also the problem is that after wiping sometimes in the day you have gas tht contains more than methane and it leaves a residue behind if that is the case try and avoid gaseous foods and see if that helps and believe it or not most toilet paper does not clean well use a disposable baby wipe instead been there with kidand grandkids best wishes Gorbalizer

Try not to "belittle" him about this.He may have a weak bowel. But you are right,he needs to wipe better.Try having baby wipes or moist flush ables near his bathroom.I myself keep them handy.Sit him down in a quite, private setting and tell him of the dangers about not wiping good enough.Teach him visually how to wipe...just roll up a towel and fold it in half to make a crease.Show him how to use a moist wipe until it is clean.I know this may sound silly, but I really believe it will help.If the problem persists, you may want to get him checked by a doc. just in case.Best Wishes!♥

How about having his rinse out his own underwear when there are "skidmarks". Just be matter-of-fact and tell him ahead of time that any time you see those he will have to take care of them. Don't use it as a punishment...but just as a responsibility that he will have. I bet you will see results quickly. And I would not say it in front of anyone ever.

I think it is a young boy thing. He is entering the stage where girls become part of the picture. If he wants to walk around with a stinky itchy but thats his issue. Checking him will do nothing but cause resentment. Perhaps he has sharts occasionaly. When the boy farts some poop comes out. Perhaps his but sweats alot and causes stains. have him shower daily and remind him to pay attention to washing his pernium and anal area. I have a girl so other than that

Do we have the same kid? My 11 year old was really bad about his hygiene until I put a pack of wipes in his bathroom. I made sure they did not say "baby" and we refer to them as "wet toilet paper." And they must be flushable, because kids will put them down the drain!

Buy the huggies clean team wipes my daughter does good with those. She used to smell real bad down there and get yeast infections b/c she wasn't wiping correctly so I bought those to help until she is old enough to do it perfect.

Don't get the stains out of his underwear. When he complains about having to wear drawers with skidmarks and you say you didn't do it, then he'll make the connection and start taking better care of things.

Sh*t happens.
Checking often is only going to alienate him. He is about to enter a stage called adolescence. This is the worst time to do so.
Poor wiping habits won't hurt him.
Don't worry about this.
