i understand some instances like drunk drivers or crackheads robbing, but what up ppl like potheads that mind their own bizznizz? why must ppl always try to end someone elses good time? is your life that miserable you cant stand to see others happy and have to ruin it for everyone else?

What about the hard working father who stops at the local bar every day after work, has a few beers, then drives home, never ever hitting anybody. He is just minding his own "bizznizz", isn't he? Well, for all the ones who never hurt anybody, there will always be those that do. Nobody can decide who it will be or where it will happen, but it definitely will. What about the kid who has a bag of weed in his moms car, doesn't completely stop at a stop sign, and a cop goes to pull him over. The kid decides to run for it, cause he doesn't want his mom or dad to find out, and in the ensuing chase, hits somebody and kills or seriously hurts someone? For that reason it has to be decided by those in power that there should be responsible laws against this kind of behavior to protect the innocent would be victims. Who knows, it could be your life that is saved by a cop somewhere who takes a would be killer off the street.

It does my head in too - I mean just because alcohol and nicotine are "socially accepted" drugs, that makes it ok for people who like a ciggy and a beer every now and again, but poor old Joe Bloggs on the street will get a write up from the 5-0 if he's seen havin a J! I mean if it wasn't for cigs n booze the government would have to increase taxes just to break even.
I hate these people who go on about smokers costing the tax payer billions - Have you any idea how much of the tax contribution comes from us smokers?!?! People would still get ill if nobody smoked and we'd still have fat cats and politicians raking in all the spare change! Are people so ignorant that they actually believe cancer and many other diseases suddenly just popped up the first time someone lit up a cig! Did they just lie dormant until cigs came about?!?!
. Nobody got cancer or anything workin in the mines did they?(that's rhetorical) and why is it that doctors ask if you have any history of cancers or heart disease in your family if supposedly smoking and being fat are the main reasons for them!?!?

If weed was legal then the government could tax that too and make a packet. I'd still get mine from round the corner tho' cos he does propper good deals at good prices. :)

OK lets take a civics lesson. The legislature makes laws right? And people elect those in the legislature. Therefore, if the citizens want to legalize drugs, then elect politicians that will legalize it. Unitl then the majority of elected officials that made drugs illegal are gone. Not to mention that drugs are tools that lead to crime. Someone gets hooked on crack and looses all their money, then robs someone to get more money. Pot is the same way. Just because some can be responsible insmoking it, doesnt mean others dont rob and kill for it. And yes the same goes for alcohol. But the difference is, alcohol was banned in the US, then because the MAJORITY wanted to legalize it again, it became legal. And tobacco doesnt not alter your mental state, so that doesnt count.

ya just answered your own question, the majority of the "potheads" really believe that they are not affected by pot. as far as im concearned, what you do in your house is your business, but when your stupid enough to bring it into the streets and put my family at risk, thats when you have crossed the line and made it my business.

You don't have to be a drug user to understand how much damage drug addiction does to the user, their family, and society at large. However, if you are a user it's very easy to think that it's perfectly okay to waste your life away smoking pot, or doing whatever other drug pleases you. When you're high you can't see the consequences of your behavior.

My taxes will go to pay for your medical expenses when your liver is shot and your lungs don't work. Smoking, drinking, and drugging cost the taxpayers billions.
