No, I'm afraid to admit there is no God because people might not like me and might make really rude remarks about me, my questions & answers on public forums.

And, me, being as sensitive as I am, could not withstand that kind of ostracism, so I am compelled to claim I'm ignorant.

Oh, I mean agnostic.

Does everyone love me now? I sure hope so, I get so upset when people don't love me...

Obviously you are not thinking when you say that god's existence or non existence is a matter of intellectual thought.

I will be brief: There are two belief system in play. Revelation and science, reveal knowledge and observed knowledge.

You either belief the revelation or not. There are no facts to be observed, no thought given. It is a belief.

Science on the other hand uses the scientific method to produce theories to cover the facts, where facts are observation by men (note the plural) independent of location.

Now to the question of God or no God. From revealed knowledge, you may belief in God or not in God, but both requires belief. From an observed knowledge, the question can not be decided since there are not facts about God.

So your thoughtful question requires belief, and it has nothing to do with "thinking" for yourself.

Its ok to beleive what you beleive as long as you don't force others to beleive in what you beleive. I beleive in the Lord but if you don't, I don't really care. The problem comes when some that do beleive, think that others don't get it or are dumb because they have not found God. I think its great that we have someone or something to bring love or fear into us so that we don not go out of control. I rather have a false God than no God. Otherwise there would be no hope in this world. If people didn't fear the afterlife they would go crazy and have no morality. I would be killing anyone and committing crimes if I did not beleive in a Higher Power, and I bet many of you would too. Faith is what keeps us strong. And don't tell me that Religion causes wars, its stupid people that warp the message for their own agenda. Like Guns don't kill people, stupid people with guns kill people.

study how the earth spins, the degree of its axis, the moon, and the distance from earth to the Sun.. and what would happen if it was altered in any degree..one would understand the divine hand of gods work around you..
god is behind everything you see, taste, touch and feel.. god is the creator of time..god isn't bound to the laws of time in this world..our feeble minds cant even comprehend god..

notice that all the resource we use today to make all our high tech stuff was placed here before life was even started.and you doubt god? there is an invisible force around you Blinding you to the truth..
in the beginning was the word... and the word was with god.. the word was God.. look in genesis there were 2 factions one evil and 1 good.. both been arguing how the end, then evil took on the image of god and been fooling the world ever sense..the bible will help you not be blind.. wide is the road to destruction... narrow is the way to god.. this means you must do it gods way..NOT your way..but many of you will not listen, you rather believe the father of all lies and your hearts are hard. if you were gods sheep you would of heard the shepherd voice, and know he is the one..all you got to do is ask Jesus into your life and except him as your savior and to forgive your sins, and walk in Jesus's footsteps for eternal life.. Jesus is Lord

That was a really good Q&A. I think that choosing to believe in God for some is definately a cop out. But for others its a search of existance and purpose. So many question marks and why's. But its a better plan to follow than nothing at all.

There is a God... only one. I do think for myself. He gave me that ability so I could choose to believe or not. I am intelligent and have studied many faiths. The implication that those who believe in God do so because they lack the mental capacity to make a rational decision is a statement made in some ignorance since it is a generalization, an assumption unsupported by any evidence whatsoever.

Are you afraid to admit that it is God Who gave you the ability to think for yourself?
Are you afraid to admit that this is a really, really, really stupid question?
I'm not!

The physical laws of the universe describe the universe as it is, in natural terms. Therefore, anything attributed to the supernatural can't be described by natural laws, and therefore, we can't study the supernatural through natural means. That's why I say it's pointless to try to scientifically search for, or discover God, because God is not bound by the natural laws of the universe.

Honestly though, if people choose to live by religious faith, let them. As for yourself, you have faith; a non-religious religion. Secular Humanist? Atheist? Agnostic? Hedonism? Just because you don't believe in a diety or religious doesn't mean you don't have a faith in something...

I can think for myself very well, thank you.

Does God exist? If he was a pillar of fire in the sky, then I wouldn't need to "believe" in him, would I? I wouldn't be able to show devotion to Him through faith because I would have "certainty" instead, wouldn't I?

God doesn't want blind obedience. He wants smart, discerning people like you to question him, and make good, informed decisions.

Jesus did some amazing and impossible things. He brought the dead back to life, and he, himself rose from the grave. Kind of hard to argue with that, isn't it?

Keep asking questions. God loves ya. ;)

It's because I can think for myself that I know there is a God.
