Why is it so shocking to find out that there are many forms of Spiritual Atheism? Spirituality does not imply belief in god, but belief in one's own spirit and the practices and art of nurturing of it. For example, Jainism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Daoism and so on. It has nothing to do with the invisible skydaddy.

Also, I know you don't like "xtian".....I don't care. You don't care what I think in turn. I love mutuality.

Also, "atheist" means without god....not without spirit.

If thumpers couldn't claim to have a corner on the "good guy" market, they would have nothing to sell.

Christians are told all humans are wicked and evil and the only possible way to overcome that God given nature is by surrendering one's soul to Jesus. And anyone who does not, is led by Satan or his helpers.

That is a fact and why so many ignorant Christians continue to insist that all non-Christians not only have no morals, they are positively working to accomplish evil deeds.

It is a sick religion with totally corrupt leaders.

But, they are inspired by God, or so they claim.

Foxtrot (below) is exhibiting Christianity at its finest. Her preacher (cult leader) would be so proud of her.

It's not that they're bad people. It's just that, if they really believe in their religion, how could they possibly believe other religions that contradict it?

The christians that flip out on yahoo answers are probably just jerks in general, and they get mad when you insult them. It has nothing to do with their religion. If you talk to a sensible christian person, even a clergyman (or sensible person of any religion) they will acknowledge that the most important thing is that the values/morals taught by the religion, not whether some guy walked on water two thousand years ago.

Whether you're a spiritual atheist, christian, jew, muslim, zoroasterist, or anything else, the name and technicalities aren't important. The similar morals and values are what you should care about.

Actually "atheist" comes from the GR a=not + theist=believer in god. There are two forms: "weak atheism" which is a personal lack of belief in a deity(s); "strong atheism" which is the denial that any form of deity can exist. Most Christians use the word "atheist", along with "satanist" to refer to any one who rejects their personal interpretation of the bible, and it is quite common to use words for the way they sound with no thought as to the actual meaning. I've seen fights break out that way. When John Travolta's movie "Urban Cowboy" came out it bombed, and one contributing factor, according to national surveys, was that nobody knew what "urban" meant so they assumed it meant "homosexual". In a country where "precision" is an obscenity, why would you expect anyone to care what "atheist" really means, especially since you couldn't be bothered to click over to wiktionary and look it up yourself, as I did.

gee, sounds like you got all figured huh? well, we wouldn't have the earth if it wasn't for God you wouldn't be here without God you wouldn't be breathing and hearing without God
you remind of the chapter in Mathew my Pator read today, Chapter 13 verse 3 Jesus said that the sower went out to sow and as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside, and the birds came and ate the seeds and some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth and they immediately sprang up but, because they had no depth of earth, when the sun came out, they got scorched and because they had no root they withered away. And some fell among thorns and choked them but others fell on good ground and yielded A crop some a hundredfold some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears to hear let them hear
Now, when He said some fell by the wayside, He meant that the word was being spoken and being heard but, satan (the bird)snatched it away from some people. and when He said and some fell on stony ground He meant that some were hearing but some people it sprang up in them then when they tell people some of them and go Oh, you're crazy to be A Christian why did you do that for? and then they stop reading the Word thats what He meant by the sun scorched it.
then when He said some fell on thorns He meant that life gets too busy for them and they get away further and further from God.
then some fell in good ground, this means that you heard the word you recieved it and you meditate on His word everyday and when He said that it yielded much fruit He was saying that, since you recieved it you are telling everybody you know
And when He was talking about the soil, He was talking about our hearts.
So, my question to you is, what kind of heart do you have? is it so hard that His Word cannot come in it? or is it stony ground where nothing can grow? or is it A receptive heart that it is willing to recieve His Word and tell others?

God is the source of all truth—and He has revealed the truth about Himself to us. Christians believe God did this in a way that staggers our imagination: He became a human being. Do you want to know what God is like? Look at Jesus Christ, for He was God in human flesh! As the Bible says, "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory" (John 1:14).

This is why I invite you to look at Jesus Christ as He is revealed in the pages of the Gospels. When you do, you will realize how much God loves you and why Jesus alone could say, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6).

Just so you know, I've asked here names of "atheistic religions" just as you have cited and been insulted because many atheists believe there are no such things.

wow, u think buddhism is athesit? u need to start researching when u do ur bash questions so u look less stupid. (buddhist is agnostic btw, they believe in a God)

if athesit=no god, then it would be sorta odd for them to believe they have a soul, something spiritual, when spirit would be something created by a god, and cant be seen or proven, much like God is to them.

OK... so derogatory names for Christians are allowed but we can't say anything bad about you stupid Atheists without you crying to the YA administration about it

It would be nice if Atheists actually contributed to society rather than wasting their lives persecuting Christians... well actually their lives are already a waste so i guess that's why you hang around the religion section
