She even picked them out. Those thick black frames. Now she will not wear them. How can I get her to wear them.

She is probably afraid that other people will make fun of her if they see her wearing glasses. I've been wearing glasses since I was twelve-years-old, and no one's made fun of them. Maybe you can tell her about different celebrities that have to wear glasses, like Adam Sandler. There are contacts, but they're kind of annoying and they're not that cheap.

It is a good idea for her to learn that looks are not everything, and glasses can be stylish, too. You could always let her take back the glasses and pick out another pair that she likes better.

a teenager is going to do what they are going to do. No matter what we want them to do they do the exact opposite. I would hope she would learn shortly that she needs them. Does she wear them at home and just not in front of her friends she might feel shy about them. kids are really mean about how other kids look.

she probably liked them at the moment, but know is thinking what people at school would say about them. you should of gotten her some contacts. but beyond that point, you are the parent and should put your foot down. its okay that kids have their opinions, but you are the ADULT here. kids now a days are just getting anything and everything they want. you have to teach them discipline.
