Are you asking in the context of the bible saying a woman should submit to her husband? It means that the husband should be the leader of the household. This is often, mistakenly, interpreted that the husband has a right to take advantage of this position. Nothing could be further from the truth. The bible admonishes men to love their wives "as Christ loves the church".
