Smart woman... Your keeping your children safe. I let my husbands 15 year old cousin on my computer the other day and after she left i checked my computer and lets just say she won't be using it anymore at my house. Children now days give out their name address phone # to anyone. They don't understand that they could give out to the wrong person and something bad could happen.

Well, how old are your children? The internet does have some harmful things that your children shouldn't be seeing, but if they are at the age where they constantly go to the friends house, do you really think they are going to not see things...don't they watch t.v.? I don't think it is wrong that you don't allow them complete access to the internet, but maybe you should talk to them about internet safety. You are probably a good parent and have taught your kids whats right and wrong, so they know if they are getting into something that is bad. Maybe you should consider letting them use the internet for fun...you could always block certain sites or moniter them.

I set up a computer for my kids. I keep the administrator settings, and I give them a user account. Then I taylored it for a kid friendly environment. Their homepage is Yahooligans, a web guide for kids. They dont use the computer for anything but school projects.

I think that is probably a good choice unless you monitored their moves on the internet. If you get pop up blockers and make sure they don't get into bad stuff the internet can be a good thing. Its just when people get into the bad stuff.
