Following a healthy lifestyle is the best defense against cancer. Watch your weight, don't smoke, eat healthy, and get enough rest and exercises. Nothing is sure, as cancer is sometimes the 'unluck of the draw', but if you do your best to keep yourself healthy, you stand a lot better chance of staying cancer free than most people.

Yes you can, some types having your test every year like cervix cancer, breast cancer. Colon, etc. But in general if you are in shape eat correctly, do exercises, live a healthy, an unstressed life, you are supposed no to be a candidate for cancer. also if in your family there are close relatives that had had some type it is better to tell that to your doctor and follow his instructions about what kind of preventions you can take.

You cannot prevent cancer but you can reduce your risk by following a healthy lifestyle, availing yourself of preventative screening AND taking the appropriate steps based on your family history. This would include avoiding (or adding) certain foods, drugs, etc. that might be contributory based on your genetics. This last step is the one thing too many people don't take into consideration.

Not yet. You only reduce the chance that it will occur. Cancer is different that ordinary diseases because is your own body working against you - mutations (if I can use a very general term that kind of explains what is goin on) of normal cells that grow even faster when you instinctively do things to help your body "fight" the disease. The best defense is to try to keep the cells from "mutating" in the first place. Like no smoking, avoiding charred meat, eating lots of veggies and keeping your overall circulation going to keep your system clean and humming along (that means exercise).

No, because if they would, than nobody would be getting breast cancer any longer. I knew a young woman who died at the age of 35 with a stage 4 breast cancer. She was breast feeding her newborn baby when she got the diagnosis.

You can prevent some but not all. Decrease the likelihood of getting certain kinds. Don't burn your food too much, smoke, chew tobacco, hit yourself in the breast area, limit your time in the sun, not breathe asbestos, etc.
