All the important federal laws were signed by Prez Nixon. People living today have to be familiar with them because they are the bedrock of all environmental legislation and enforcement in consideration today.

The environmental laws passed in the seventies caused the creation of very efficient energy use technology. Some say if we applied the energy saving know how we already have we could cut the consumption of fossil fuels in America by 10 million barrels a day, and that would put OPEC out of business without us firing a single shot at them. Some believe OPEC money supports Arab terrorists who want to destroy America.
