The Assumption of our Lady is the belief that Mary the Mother of Jesus did not die, but was taken up to heaven to sit as Queen of Heaven next to her Son Jesus. Rev 11:19 -12:1
She is not a god(don't go there, just One God), still human and a fore shadowing of how all humanity will be at Jesus' second coming.
Precedence in the Old Testament include Enoch taken to Heaven Gen 5:24, Heb 11:5, Elijah in a flaming chariot to heaven. 2 Kgs 2:11, 1Thes 4:17

(Once again i will use this). According to the bible....Of course no one wants to hear the truth it seems..they want to hear what the catholic counsel voted in as what they ought to do. THE BIBLE never says that Mary was anyone but an ordinary human female whom God chose to use in a extraordinary way. Yes, Mary was a righteous woman and favored by God (Luke 1:27-28). Mary was also a sinful human being just like everyone else – who needed Jesus Christ as her Savior just like everyone else (Romans 3:23; 6:23-24). Mary did not have an “immaculate conception” – there is no Biblical reason to believe Mary’s birth was anything but a normal human birth. Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus (Luke 1:34-38), but she did not remain a virgin her entire life. In fact, Joseph and Mary had several children together after Jesus was born. Jesus had four half-brothers: James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas (Matthew 13:55). Jesus also had half-sisters but they are not named or numbered (Matthew 13:55-56).
Mary was with the apostles on the day of Pentecost (Acts 1:14). However, Mary is never mentioned again after that passage. Mary’s death is not recorded in the Bible. Nothing is said about Mary ascending to Heaven or having an exalted place in Heaven. Mary is to be respected as the earthly mother of Jesus, but she is not worthy of our worship and she cannot hear our prayers. Jesus is our only advocate in Heaven (1 Timothy 2:5). Mary would say the same as the angels do when people try to worship them – “Worship God!” (Revelation 19:10; 22:9).

Our Lady of the Assumption is a reference to Mary, mother of our Lord, Jesus Christ. This just on form of mother Mary that is mainly worhiped as a religious sect of the Roman Catholic Chruch and this was a primarily part of Pope John Paul II's belief of his catholc church religion, he even had a shrine to mother Mary in his apartment in the Vatican , as for a I had been told.

Our Lady of the Assumption is the Blessed Virgin Mary. She has many names and titles. Our Lady of Guadalope, Our Lady of the Rosary, Queen of Angels, and so on. Many churches, especially Catholic churches, name themselves after saints and holy people.

No, you saw it correctly, there's also a place called "Our Lady of the Lake", both are part of the Catholic Cult that has deified Mary as being equal to and sometimes greater than Jesus. Our Lady of the Lake is taken directly from the Celtic belief in the Lady of the Lake of Avalon.

But they need to read the BIBLE:
JOHN 14:6 Jesus says "I AM THE WAY AND ONLY WAY"
and by no other way can one enter my Father's kingdom.
John 11:25 Jesus says "I AM THE RESURRECTION AND LIFE"
Only one can forgive sin and save mankind=Jesus.
Hey Mary was a nice lady but its her Son JESUS that is our savior.
Mary can't do a thing for us. SORRY.
