I'm an atheist who became so by studying various religions including Mormonism.

If people are compelled to follow a religion, they can do no better than becoming a Mormon. Mormons are an excellent example of faith & doctrine in action.

Mormons do more than preach the gospel, they try to live by the gospel.

Can't ask for more than that.

If I was going to follow a Christian religion, it would be Mormonism.

I was also raised LDS. I am not active right now. But it is a hard life to live. The mormon people are awesome if you can live your life that way. Right now I am in between the faith i have always known (LDS) and Seventh Day adventist. My problem is that the Prophet Joseph Smith changed the book of mormon many times and the modern day prophets seem to give in to the pressure the government puts on them by saying they had a revelation. Like in the 70's when blacks weren't allowed to hold the priesthood and all of a sudden they had a revelation. According to many things I have read there are different accounts on the first vision instead of the one we were taught in primary. He changed it according to who he was talking to. As far as most the doctorine I do believe that we were spirit children in heaven and we were sent here with our earthly family and we will see them again someday. That is why we do Genealogy. So our ancestors can accept the teachings or deny them.

Mormons are nice people... generally moral & decent.

Mormonism is not a Christian faith however...

Christians put their faith in the Jesus of the Holy Bible.

The Jesus that Mormons believe in is not the same. Mormonism says he is Satan's brother, which is totally unscriptural. The LDS Jesus is a re-invention or the one true Jesus (God's anointed One).

It's really interesting how Mormonism has mutated through history by the pressures put upon it by society & the government.

Also...the Book of Mormon is not compatible with the truths of the Bible....You can't honestly read & study the Bible and take the Book of Mormon seriously.....

Read the Bible.....honestly ask God to show you the truth...and I'm convinced He will.

I'm an LDS, and I think that "mormons" are one of the only religions left that has members that are truly committed to living their faith. The doctrine is full of faith, hope and peace, and living by the principles truly brings safety and peace in this crazy world!

...If I were you, I wouldn't worry so much about what everyone thinks! :o) each to their own!

I grew up mormon my dad is a mormon preacher.

What I know about mormons might frighten you. Unless you are cool with mysticism....
You ever wonder why Joseph Smith was killed? He broke an oath of secrecy to his fraternal brothers. The symbols mormons use are synonomous with many mystic teachings along with the ceremonies and initiations.
I still respect them though.
:)
All the churches can lead up to the same circle if you let them.

They're normal people. Some are good. Some are not so good. It's all up to the individual church members what they choose and how to live.

Bty, I'm LDS.

I don't think about cults that are started by a wanted criminal who wrote a book that he claims is another gospel that was taken from a fictional story written by a catholic bishop.

I have no problems with Mormons as people. I have many problems with the LDS church itself (from personal experience)

It is not my place to criticize religious beliefs as long as they do not conflict with other people's rights. Mormons are entitled to their beliefs, asides from polygamy. Most of them are monogamous.
