Yes, it's safe...
Any age after 3 months is fine. Before that, it's required/mandatory for the babies pediatrician to pierce her ears. When u get them pierced...make sure that the earrings are indeed real. If not, it'll cause irritation and possibly keloid.

(Mother of 2 daughters) 1st daughter had her ears pierced at 3 months and the other I waited until the day she turned a year old. (lazy) lol

I got my ears pierced right after I turned six because my mom said I could have whatever I wanted if I got my Beginner's level swimming certification from the Red Cross. I said I wanted my ears pierced. She said, um, we were gonna make you wait until you were twelve. I said, you said, whatever I wanted. And I want my ears pierced.

I got the certification and got my ears pierced. Pinch, pinch, all done. I don't know if you want to save the piercing to use as a reward later, or if you want her to go ahead and get it done as a baby. It doesn't hurt that much--come on, boy babies get their foreskins trimmed off and they don't die or anything. Piercing ears is way less traumatic than that (and unlike foreskins, if you don't put earrings in the piercings, the piercings grow back. Some guys wish their foreskins would grow back!)

I don't think the age matters all that much--keep it clean, mind the holes, it'll heal just fine if all goes as usual. I guess the main issue is, are you doing it for her or you? I got mine because I wanted them, and it was a motivating factor to get my Red Cross certification. That's the real issue you have to think about--who's this for?

I agree with mostly everyone on here. It is perfectly safe. My mother had my ears peirced when I was a little under one month old and I am SOOO greatful for that. I like to avoid pain and I would have gone my whole life without piered ears just to avoid the pain. but if I don't want to wear earings then it doesn't matter but the option is always there. I think you should go ahead a do it!

Get it done and over with so about time she gets older it will be well healed up.I got my daughter ears pierced when she was 3 months old. The older she gets and knows what is going on she will not sit still so someone can stab her in her ear. So hurry up and get it over with and give her some Motrin or Tylenol afterwards.Good LUck!

When the child can look after the hygiene related to pierced ears then she is old enough to have her ears pierced

Well I don't think it would be to bad for the baby, but I would wait until your child can talk. She might not want earings. Plus, then she can tell you if her earings are hurting her, or when it is time to twist them. It might not be bad or the baby, but there would be a lot more crying!

Wait until she is older and let her decide if and when she wants to have her ears pierced.

I think they may bug the studs at that age...may try to pull them out and rip their lobes. I think at 12 months they should be old enough though. By then you can explain to them that its pretty , dont touch or it'll make a boo boo and they would understand, yes?
