"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

Ah, the good ol' threat: Better to believe or ELSE! That's the god of punishment thread. You obviously bought it. I was taught it too, except I refuse to be cowered by it. So, how does it feel to be scared silly by superstition? Feel good?
I have no fear of meeting a god after this world (even though I don't believe there is one to meet). Maybe life without an Invisible Sky Wizard would be too much for you. You NEED childish fables to get through your life.
I cannot accept the Christianity biography of god. First, there is hardly a story to begin with. We are told of this Jesus character, and precious little is told. We are told of an impossible conception, lots of trauma surrounding his birth & first 2 yrs. Then there's the story of when he was 12 in the synagogue. Then there's NOTHING untill he's thirty! Then lots of quotes & stories about him for 3 yrs.NO gospel written by him; three written by his followers & one written by someone who never met him (Mark). We are given quotes that we have no idea the context they are given in, & the gospels all tell a DIFFERENT version of Jesus's last 3 yrs. Even they don't agree. SO, the followers of this vague information have to make up their own interpetation of the little stuff they have to go on.
If there is a god, I'd have to ask him why he didn't make me idiot enough to swallow all of this no proof, follow blindly & don't ask questions stuff. Following blindly is what the Nazis did: the result was dangerous. To follow something blindly AND NOT BE ALLOWED TO ASK QUESTIONS is mental abuse & often ends in much pain & suffering.
If one bk is your answer to everything, then I suggest you just get vaccinated & stop using medicine, just rely on god. If you are foolish enough to go through with it, you will learn that you will NEED the medical world at some time.
If you're crazy version of the meaning of the universe is true, (and god IS an idiot) then he may not like me in the afterworld, but he will RESPECT me, for I will have integrity, sensiblity & reason. And if he doesn't respect me that any more than his groupies here, well thats something he'll have to deal with. I'll have much to educate him about then.
BTW, what physical element in the universe is responsible for all of the diversity you find in the universe? I'll give you a hint, its found in the periodical table of elements. What is it?

When you say all that religions said, I assume you mean all that christianity said seeing as they all contradict. Well if that was true then I assume all non-christians will be going to hell. In tht case I'd be happy to go with them as I generally find them much kinder, moral and tolerant people.
I'd take two things to hell with me -
1) The knowledge that I have a better idea of morality than god,
2) the quotes: "It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.” and “Neither fire nor wind, birth nor death can erase our good deeds” (both by Buddha)

I would say:
Did you really do all those incredibly cruel things? Did it make sense to drown every innocent on earth, the first born of the Egyptians, and all those other people in Canaan? And what was up with the Job business. You killed all his kids! And if it makes sense to you, are you stupid enough not to understand that it wouldn't make sense to the people you gave a brain to?
So ... my "loving" god, because I used the brain you gave me, and thus you came up short on credibility scale, you're sending me to everlasting suffering. There's a word for all-seeing - omniscient. Is there one for all-incoherent?
Just give me the marshmallows. I gotta go see my folks.

This kind of so-called 'question' disgusts me. I am disgusted by stupidity, willful ignorance and self delusion... which pretty much sums up the Abrahamic death cults of desert monotheism (Judaism, Christianity, Islam).
It disgusts me to know that three-quarters of the population of the USA is infected with some sort of insidious mental virus that leads them to the insane certainty that the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of a bunch of ignorant Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders represent some kind of cosmic 'TRUTH' about fundamental aspects of existence and reality.
It disgusts me to know that so many people dwell in a delusional reality (per Genesis) in which a 6,000 year-old Earth is seperated from a 6,000 year-old Heaven by a solid 'firmament' structure (the sky).
I am disgusted by the fact that these people believe that they inhabit a magical universe, which they share with talking snakes (with legs) and donkeys, a shepherd staff that turns into an asp, demons chased out of people and into pigs, friendly spirits, evil spirits, walking on water, multiplying loaves and fishes, food falling from the sky, conception by a ghost, people raised from the dead, the sun stopping in its tracks, parting seas, people being bodily sucked up into heaven (which, by the way, lies on the 'other side' of the sky), world-wide flood that drowned the earth to a depth of 40 feet above the tallest mountain, creating people from a dust bunny and a rib, a magical tree of knowledge, god speaking from a burning bush... and ritual cannibalism, by eating god in the form of a cracker.
In a sane world, anybody running around spouting ANY of that crap, would be locked up in the State Farm for the Funny. Apparently, though, mass insanity seems to convey some sort of free pass for the loony.
It disgusts me to know that in our society, irrational, deluded people who ACTUALLY BELIEVE such nonsense is TRUE are permitted to vote, hold public office, procreate, and shape the minds trusting, vulnerable children.
It disgusts me to know that these same people think that there is something wrong with those who DON'T believe all of this ridiculous crap.
Get a grip.

"When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called Religion." ~ Robert M. Pirsig

id be a little shocked, but not too upset. ive led a good enough life that no god i ever want to meet wouldnt let me into heaven. i havnt sinned that horribly by saying there is no god and jesus never died for my sins and rose up from the dead again, so i wouldnt really be that upset.

I think your name fits.
Atheists don't believe this will happen, so they will just die and be dead. Maybe you'll be judged, but I'll be reincarnated.
Please make an effort to respect others' beliefs. The object of this question is just to stir up trouble, and you know it.
