Everywhere are advertisements for weight loss, or somebody is being critcized for being "overweight."
I see many unhealthy "standards" sent out by the media & society(and clothing stores!) that are basically saying that girls need to super-slim, and guys should have huge, nicely toned muscles. It is really no wonder why so many people are self-conscious about their appearance (weight-wise), and why eating disorders are becoming more common (and yes, of course, there could be other contributing factors.)
Dieting is okay if your weight is seriously going to affect your health. But I think that this weight-loss craze is going too far- it is ridiculous when no matter what you do, you can never fit the mould of perfection, or meet the standards. Theres always "too heavy" or "too skinny."
Everyone is built differently, so why should we feel pressured to look a certain way?
Does anyone else agree with me?

I hate how the muffin top is encouraged by clothing stores, the super low rise plus a super short shirt. It's so hard to find jeans that don't give you a plumber butt and shirts that go below your navel. I ******* hate that ****. So much selection in a size 2, nothing in the 'plus size' of 12. I'm 5'8" 135lb and I'm a plus size, does that sound right?

Thank you, Nicky! The biggest thing that I am very concerned about is the poor eating habits that people inflict upon themselves, which usually defeats the purpose and potentially causes a variety of problems or disorders down the road.

What I find most ironic is the individuals who say sarcastic or nasty remarks toward individuals who are not 'Baywatch' material...is that they aren't "all that" themselves.

It's not as bad as it used to be...20 years ago, it was so much worse. The media is just starting to push for more realistic sizes. Just deal for now.
