A Voice box, like a microphone and miniature amplifier rolled into one, its for people who have had throat cancer !.

It is a small tone producing machine, which is held against the throat, the noise of which is mouthed by the user to produce some element of speech. It is an external replacement for someone who has had their larynx removed because of disease.
This is not neccessarlly down to smoking.
But, don`t smoke , just in case.

They are not bad smokers, they are people with throat cancer that no longer have the ability to speak. They use a machine to aid them speak.
