why do people asssume blondes are stupid and brunettes are clever? whats with that?

Well, you need to go back in history where all this came from.........an incredibly stupid and pathetic woman called Marilyn Monroe (Please don't bother saying I am jealous, I find brunettes better looking, like Elizabeth Taylor).
I don't have a problem with Monroe the person. It is the image that she created for herself. She played on this dumb image, put on a breathy, "sexy" voice, she was actually a smart woman who was stupid enough and fame hungry enough to change herself to be liked. There were other blondes back then like Jean Harlow and Lana Turner who were never called stupid, they were normal women and their hair colour didn't matter.
So if you want to blame anyone blame her and then all the pathetic women in the media who believe the more blonde their hair is the more attractive they will be to men and the more famous they will become. It doesn't matter what your hair colour is. I have dark hair today, I believe I am pretty smart, if I dye my hair blonde tomorrow( God forbid) will I become stupid?
I have never heard a blonde woman being called stupid when she isn't. What I have heard is dark haired women always being called plain. So my friend it works both ways.
Society believes that (society today, not throughout history)
Blondes: are pretty, fun, lively and stupid
and Dark Haired women are: Plain, ugly, smart and sensible.
Redheads: Different, lively and Irish!

It is not a racist or sexist concept. It is more out of the social rumour that wants brunettes to be more clever and the blondes silly.
Of course it is not the case.
Prove that the blondes are (not more clever, but only clever ) at least, and the rumour will be denied.
How to prove it ?? ... well, just dont ask this kind of questions anymore.

there are hundreds of dumb blonde jokes. i don't think anybody seriously thinks blondes have less intellect. it is done to be funny. You ever see the movie Legally Blonde. Thats a "blonde joke" type movie. Beautiful Witherspoon acts like an airhead, but turns out to be really effective. Clueless was a dumb bliond movie the whole way through.

The blonde image seems to be very much in at the moment. For this reason there is many of them hence all the sterotyping.

Then what are the stereotypes of black people? Oh yeah we're ghetto, loud and ignorant, in life theres always some assumption thats going to hold you down, but truthfully we need A LOT more black women to be chosen, and to be looked up to. But um, i dunno people really just like blondes more, so brunettes just had to be smart.

As a brunette I am often told blonds have more fun and are sexier, so don't feel too prejudiced against!!

I know, it is ridiculous. I am blonde and am currently studying for a degree in law in one of the top ten universities in the country- blondes rock!
