particular, and it will possibly be a extra intense punishment than at present dished out. The accused in a rape trial would desire to be presented a similar anonymity because of the fact the sufferer, this implies any miscarriages of justice found *for the time of* the trial would be rectified with minimum impact. would desire to the lie be found after the guy is sentenced, then the punishment for the lie would desire to be worse. As you're saying, the harmless guy or woman's existence has been destroyed - no media coverage will tournament that which condemned him, and no remember what he says there'll be people who think of "no smoke without hearth." in spite of the undeniable fact that, the western international as an entire desires a stronger way of managing all people who're falsely imprisoned, not purely meant rapists.

The Bible (not "bibile", please learn to spell) is a collection of ancient writings, records, letters, and historical documents from the middle east. Many of the laws & rules of the societys documented in the Bible are extremely out of date when compared to modern civilisation, but that's what 5000 years can do to people. Just because something like this was law in the middle east thousands of years ago doesn't mean that modern Christians approve of or condone it. It's just a record of ancient times, not a recommendation of how we should behave today.
And get over yourself. You're not the first person to discover this passage.

The rapist is punished by having to pay fifty silver shekels and marrying the girl that he had violated.
The reason for this punishment is that according to Jewish custom and tradition, rape victims are damaged goods due to the fact that they are not virgins. Their status as damaged goods means that no Jewish boys will want to marry them. Ergo, the rapist has to marry the victim because no one else will.

During that time, it was considered a disgrace for any man to be married to a woman who was not a virgin. He'd be spurned for life by the society who did this. Therefore, if a man rapes a woman and is forced to stay married to her for life, it would be known by everyone that 1) he raped the woman and 2) he's married to a nonvirgin (because he raped her). Therefore, the man would have to live with the shame and disgrace of being married to a nonvirgin for life, while the nonvirgin would be respected by society.
In short, the man would be disgraced, ostracized, and ill-treated by society for as long as he lives, while the wife would be alright. Of course, in today's culture, that may not matter, but, as I said before, marrying a nonvirgin was one of the worst things one could do back in Biblical times, so the man who raped the woman would have a miserable life not only because everyone knew what he did and wouldn't give him any respect, but because he would feel the shame of not marrying a virgin himself.

You must understand the culture back then. Women had no rights and were treated less than a servant. The Bible was radical teaching back then. Saying that the man must pay for her AND marry her and can't divorce than that was like WOW!

Your FIRST mistake is thinking the Bible is any more than a fairy tale and a propaganda book; once you understand that it is nothing more than a work of FICTION you will be free to do you own thinking the way God meant you to be. GOD did not "write" the Bible, a bunch of men did, and you can be quite certain that God does NOT "endorse" that kind of NONSENSE!

Isn't marrying her with no possibility of divorce enough punishment? By the way, the word is 'Bible.'

The KJV does not say 'rape'.
By the way, it was David's son, Absalom who killed his brother for raping his sister.
