Quicktime should do it. I don't know how it copes with the likes of Divx though. I always struggle with missing codecs on the MAC.

Go to Macupdate and get Divx Doctor. Run it through that and it will save it as a Quicktime .mov movie.
Or play it in Mplayer or VLC.

we have a program on ours called VLC don't know much about it but when my wife gets back i will edit my answer with more info for you. Franklin G has given you all the info i was waiting to get off my wife .all the best
