I know what you mean, Frank.

It is a sad situation. But then - we are a pretty mixed up species... and we are often on little power trips. We have been blessed and cursed with a small degree of self-awareness. Not quite enough to really know what is real and what is happening, but sometimes enough to know that we don't really know what is going on.

It is beautiful when people use that to comment upon life, love, the world, the daftness of being human, the bizarre thing that this 'life' thing is.
It is a curse when we think that this is all that there is and that it matters, somehow. And then try to force others into our narrow little box so that we feel better about hiding in it our self. That is when the dark stuff really takes over.

The universe is basically empty and meaningless. The beauty is that it is empty and meaningless that it is empty and meaningless. When we try to make it all mean something, we get into power games with our self and our own life, other humans, other species and the very rock on which we revolve.
But when we step back and let all of that go.... we can create things that will touch us all deeply.

No, it seems that our (humanity) creativity is not only offset by our ability to inflict pain and suffering but can actually be inspired by it. Barber whose most famous composition is forever remebered as the theme from "Platoon" was actully inspired by the feelings endured as an active participant in the airforce (USAF) in W W II

Music is wide open in all forms and the type of songs created set the mood for what ever film is being taped.

.As a human race we are darkness and light. To appreciate something beautiful, we must endure what is ugly and horrific. Sad but true.
