someone told me that sleeping 2 hours is better than 3 hours or sleeping 8 hours is better than sleeping 9 hours... is that true?

LOL... this is the first time I've ever heard about this nonsense. I would rather have 7 hours of sleeping than 6 hours. Whoever said this is not at his best thinking at the moment.

no that's not true, at least not for that reason.

if you were takin a nap, you'd need to sleep a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Starting 30 minutes after you sleep, you enter rapid eye movement and rapid eye movement (REM) lasts sessions of 1-1/2 hours. That's why you should sleep 2 hours instead of 3 because if you wake up after 3, you are in the middle of REM, which makes you feel less rested.

Also, depending on your age, 9 hours of sleep is rarely good for anyone. It may not leave you drowsy but if you slept 7-8 hour nights for a week, you'd see a difference.

I don't think it is true. Sleeping 7 hours would be better than sleeping 6 hours. Although it depends on the person. But in general, no . Good Luck! :)

I don't believe so. Some people require more sleep than others. I don't think odd or even numbers has anything to do with it. I require at least eight hours to function properly while some people can get by with 5 to 6 hours.

I think it matters that you get enough sleep. The bad thing is to not be on a routine, and go to sleep at different hours everyday. Thats why a lot of young people, and people that work odd hours are sleepy a lot.

sleeping 7 hours is perfect. 6 hours is too little. 8 hours gets to be a bit much and it makes you tired again

On which nonsense did this "someone" base his or her "theory"? Seriously!! You're going to actually put this question out there for us all to ridicule??! You're on your own, my friend--I can't WAIT to see the answers to this one!!!

I can't think of a single reason why it would be....seems silly to me. I don't think your body cares whether its odd or even, just as long as it's enough!
