At that low speed air drag isn't that signifigant.

Perhaps the main factor here would be at what RPM your engine is the most efficient. Most of the time this is at about 1500 to 2000 RPM.

If you came to a hill and kept it in overdrive, or accelerated to pass someone, the overdrive would "strain" the engine a bit and decrease its efficiency.

I suggest driving your car in whatever gear keeps the engine at 1500 to 2000 RPM.

The most fuel efficient would be driving 55kms in overdrive. Because there is less drag upon the drive wheels. However the difference would hardly be measurable

well, its according if your overdrive and 4th gear are in the same car... if youre talking about a car with a 4th and overdrive, it would be more fuel efficient in overdrive because less RPM's on the motor...
