I am looking for used car.. I found a Jeep 2004 Limited Liberty, fully loaded, minus the sunroof. 31,509 miles and the dealership wants $15,900 for it, and will not negotiate with me on the price. I feel like I am getting ripped off, cause the Jeep is a 04 , three yrs old. 2007 are already in. Anyways, Do you all think I am getting ripped off? Or is this a good deal?
Also, Kelley Blue book says 18,000$ is the SRP for the Jeeps.. I atill feel like I am getting ripped off!
How long do Jeeps last? like agewise?
Thanks in advance.

If you feel like the intrinsic value of a Liberty is not $15K, then you shouldn't even consider it.
Jeep is essentially a DaimlerChrysler product and durability is fairly standard across the board. If you've ever owned a Dodge, expect the same types of issues. Typically a DC product has issues with auxillary equipment (ie, options, power steering, a/c, etc.).
KBB is a good source of general value, but if you aren't satisfied with it, try NADA.
If you're still not satisfied, buy an Xterra, which are much cheaper and higher quality.
The nice thing about a Jeep is the same reason it's so pricey: they maintain value quite well. There's a very niche market for Jeeps and that keeps depreciation low. So while you might pay a lot for one, you can expect to sell it for quite a bit as well.

Well 31 something thousand miles is not bad at all. And $15,000 is not bad for a Jeep. Given that it is only 2 years old and started off with a price probable around $35,000 means that you got $20,000 taken off in just two years. So, no I don't think that you are getting ripped off at all. As far as how long they last, I am not exactly positive. However, the longest lasting car is a Chevrolet. Then probable Ford and then Jeep and so on. But it also depends on how many miles you put on it per year. If you maintenance it regularly and put let's say 15,000 miles on it per year, you should probably get at least 5-10 years out of it. So it should have around 150,000 thousand miles altogether by the time 10 years is up.

Do you have anything to put down? How much do you make? How good is your credit? These are factors to be taken into considiration! Even if he says yes, the finance companies can say no! Some dealers think women are stupid too! 31,509 is low for 2004! so 15,900 is reasonable. If I were you I would still get something slashed off the price! Go back and show you mean business! Take it or leave it!! Use a poker face! Remember, these people will kiss your *** for a sale!!!!

If Kelly Blue book is saying the msrp is $18,000, they're probably talking about a brand new one. You want to go back to kelly blue book and go under the used cars section. If it still shows $18,000 for the vehicles value and the dealer is offering it for $15,900, then yes you are getting a good deal on it. You should also check with car fax to make sure the vehicle hasn't been involved in any accidents. Also look underneath the car to make sure there's no frame damage and no rust on the bottom of the vehicle.

Click on the below link this will show you my dealerships prices on all of our jeep liberty's that are used. We have a 2004 with 15k miles on it for 15990. It looks like it may be a baser model then the one you are looking at. So you should be getting a good price.

Out of the question. Too much money for to little a SUV. Liberty is in my opinion below average vehicle. Keep looking. If you don't mind driving a 4 cylinder SUV, I would highly recommend a Honda CRV, it also comes in a 4x4 if you need that. This SUV drives like a car and not a truck. For the sake of the $16,000.00 you are about to spend test drive other SUVs. Another really good SUV, but slightly higher in price is the Toyota Highlander. I can't explain to you how good this SUV is, you have to test drive it. Happy Hunting..

just get a brand new one for 18,000 but if it has loads of extras then it could be a good deal and also the mialige is not to high, most cars genarally last about five to ten years depending where you live e.g by salt water will rust your car and also going off road will ruin it to.
