A product called bag balm, usually used on livestock, is excellent. It softens into the skin, its an antiseptic as well as a product that speeds healing unbelievably!! You can usually find it at feed stores for livestock. Use it on your self too!

Make sure that you watch the cuts closley because what can happen is theyy can get infected and then close over underneath will be a big infection that can get really bad. I would put hydrogen peroxide on them just to make sure the cuts stay clean. Good Luck if they start to puss go to a vet he will need antibiotics.

took my dog to the vet for the same thing,if its been going on a while, and he has a bald patch he could have a slight infection deep down.antibiotics could clear it.If not a spray 3-4 times a day,it has a bad taste,if he`s clever he will learn to leave it alone.1 month it will be healed.hope this helps.

Purchase a spray calledBitter Apple. It will clear up the sores and will keep the dogs from picked at them as it is an unpleasent taste.

neosporin is supposed to be safe for use on dogs. You could also call your vet office and ask them for a recommendation.

A second vote for bag balm here. It's easy to find at any Wal-Mart or pharmacy and it works great.

If the sores are in an area he can't lick, you can use Neosporin or any triple antibacterial cream.
