You could try this website and it will scan for registry issues and maybe fix it.

If not you could try downloading and installing CCleaner from www.ccleaner.com .

Good luck!

there are several places in registry that houses startups:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
(well, there are much more, but these are the most common)
and also check for startup folder.

However, for a more convenience access to deactivate startup entry, you should try using msconfig first. (Start > Run... > Type "msconfig" (without quotes) > Startup > Uncheck programs you don't want to run on startup)

There are also programs like StartupList (http://www.merijn.org/ ) which lists startups from those registry entries, and the less known registry entries and almost everywhere, be careful though, it also list Windows' files startup files entries which if deleted might make your computer won't wake up anymore.
