hmm. All I can suggest is that you make sure he gets like a pedialite water and ensure milk or a formulated milk for kids. Just to make sure he is getting all the minerals and vitamins he needs. Wouldnt hurt to give him vitamins daily. Dont worry to much, keep offering him healthy food. Eventually he will want to eat.

Sometimes kids just don't want to eat. If he's eating a lot of junk food in between meals than that might be the problem. I'm wondering if he eats anything at besides juice and milk? You could try feeding him fruit smoothies that way you know he's getting some of the nutrition he needs. Also ask your doctor he could come up with some kind of scedule that would help you plan his meals so when he does eat he can get all the stuff he needs to be healthy.

Parenting is not always easy. Toddler times increase wariness of solid foods, especially when new teeth crowd in along the gums on the side. Have you checked there? It may be as simple as cutting teeth. Stages of development change things as well, so if it persists more than a week, check with the pediatrician. Introduce small things to incorporate into the day, goldfish crackers, cheerios, smaller things to be eaten on the run. Speaking of run, if potty training hasn't occurred yet, the liquid diet self-imposed by the toddler may do just that. See if youngster will take banana slices, cottage cheese or yougurt. It will help stave off the runs.

Well, at his age I wouldn't worry too much. You can always give him ensure or pediasure if you're worried about nutrition. He may take Zweibeck biscuits...or you could just put a bowl of sliced bananas or cold cereal without milk on the table and let him pick it up as he chooses. Also, don't just let him walk around with a bottle.

You MAY want (do this when you feel it's time) to start him on a sippy cup during the day if you haven't already. If you let him walk around with a bottle, he's most likely going to fill up and not be hungry. With a cup, he can drink when you want him to and won't have it with him all the time.

Try making meals he may prefer and stop offering him milks and juices all of the time. When I told my kid's pediatrician that my baby would drink from a bottle, he assured me that the baby would not let herself go hungry. He said, "She'll drink out of a dog bowl before that would happen". I thought he was hilarious. But in essence, your son will not allow himself to go hungry, and he isn't. You are enabling him to pass up solid foods because he doesn't feel a need.

I don't think it's abnormal. My little toddler has been finicky too at times.

Try finger foods like chicken nuggets or fishsticks or fries. Goldfish crackers or other kinds of crackers. For breakfast my little one likes plain waffles. Sometimes at lunch it might start with just a plain piece of bread, then a peanut butter and jelly sandwich broken up into pieces.

I'd give your son/daughter milk mostly rather than juice until he eats a bit more.

If he is taking breast milk then he is OK. Maybe he doesn't want to be weaned yet. If this is just store bought milk, then he is much better off on formula. Store bought milk in a child that young has contributed to the increase of yeast causing rashes. In any case he will grow out if it. Kids come in all shapes and sizes and no book on any shelf can tell you about your kid. Happy parenting.

Kids are just like that. My son does the same thing. Instead of trying to feed him dont give him so many juices and fluids during the afternoon. Then when dinner comes he will be hungry. The stomach will be able to be trained to be hungry if you can start him to eat more slowly.

Believe it or not, he will eat when he gets hungry. Make sure he stays hydrated. If he starts to lose alot of weight, you might have to talk to your Dr. about getting him on something like ensure. But until you see a big change in weight, I would just get out your blender and add things like banannas to his drinks. You would be surprised at the amount of food you will be able to get into him this way.
