Hopkins - W 47 (KO's 31) TF 53 - W pct 87% - KO pct 59% - wins over De La Hoya, Trinidad, W. Joppy and Tarver - KO'ed by none - #50 ranked fighter
Very unorthodox fighter
In 2004 voted as #1 ranked current pound 4 pound fighter
Titles at 160 and 175
Hearns - W 61 (KO's 48) TF 67 - W pct 91% - KO pct 72% - wins over Cuevas, Benitez, Duran and V. Hill - KO'ed by Leonard, Hagler and Barkley (average fighter) - #18 ranked puncher - #67 ranked fighter
Much better boxer than given credit for
Hopkins is a counter puncher. Hearns in this fighter will box. Not the making for an exciting or entertaining bout. Both fighters are going to box, hold and run. Hearns does just enough to win a majority decision.

This would be a classic fight between "The Executioner" and "The Hit Man" I believe that Hearns would stay on the outside and hit Hopkins with some good jabs early in the fight with Hopkins coming on strong in the middle rounds making it an even fight. I could see the last several rounds being too close to call and the official verdict being a draw.

in my view, this combat would not final 4 rounds, Tommy is a thoroughly distinctive type than Bernard, as became Leonard, Duran and Hagler. Hopkins would not bypass the area with any of those men. Hopkins opposition in his reign as Middleweight Champion became certainly vulnerable, he tried solidifying his "Greatness" with calling out blown up Jr. Middleweights, De l. a. Hoya and Trinidad. particular he has a checklist for defenses, yet truthfully not one of the boys he fought have been everywhere on the brink of super, they have been marginally stable at ultimate. is that this Hopkins fault? definitely not, yet human beings would desire to be careful to not call him as one in all their ultimate. Herans might harm the lots slower starter Hopkins early in the 1st around and would not permit him off the hook, Herans might land his devastating real hand at will and end the sport yet over matched Hopkins previous due in the third around.

If both are in there prime, I would take Hopkins. Every time I think of Tommy Hearns, I remember how he had Hagler bleeding early in the fight, then Hagler tore him apart and knocked him out.

Bernard Hopkins.
1. Hearns, born in 1958, is 48 years old.
2. Hearns has fought 67 professional bouts
3. Hopkins, born in 1965, is 41 years old.
4. Hopkins has fought 52 professional bouts.
The extra age and extra bouts takes a toll on a soul.
