When I go to Wal-mart I have two options, SunChips or the Frito-Lay Baked varieties (such as Doritos, Potato, Barbecue, etc.) Which ones do you prefer? Or are there any others I haven't heard of that are low in fat and calories? Thanks

Apple chips! You can get them at Safeway for about $1 a bag. Wholegrain goldfish are good, too. Or Trader Joe's crunchy cheese puffs, but I'm not sure about the nutritional information on those.

Of the one's you listed, I'd probably have to go with baked doritos, but I really don't think that trying to just take the saturated fat out of something that's meant to have a lot (like potato chips) tends to work too well - you're much better off with something that wasn't meant to have much fat in the first place. And do keep in mind that even if there are fewer calories per serving, they're still empty calories, and you probably eat more than one serving at a time (calories per serving: 3, serving size: 1 chip).

I love the baked lays. Sunchips are still high in fat and calories.

Out of the ones listed I would choose Sun Chips - although I liked baked pita chips.

Read labels. Even if they say "low fat" or "low salt"...they are usually chockful of something just as bad.

Look for ones in health food section. Some are roasted, some are cooked in olive oil. Look for unsalted varieties or those with sea salt.
