How do you deal with money when overseas? Do you get traveler's cheques? Do you bring a wad of cash and exchange it at the airport or a bank upon reaching your destination? Do you use a credit/debit card? Do you carry your money in a money belt? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

I would definitely not take cash. With debit/Credit Cards, you can be charged huge fees for using them. I would go with traveler checks. Then only convert as much as you think you need. If you convert all your money to local currency and then try and convert it back you could lose money that way also.

You can carry cash and convert it over to another currency. I wouldn't advise doing it at the airport, because most of the time, the exchange rate is not as good. You can change over money at banks or even at hotels, but sometimes hotels don't have great rates either. You can use your debit/credit card and you shouldn't have any problems. I would advise to carry some cash along with a credit card so you will be covered in any situation.

Take an atm card, with a back up hidden somewhere, that's all that's necessary most places in the world. Even Mongolia (great place by the way) has atm machines.
Only real drawback is if you're travelling away from cities, then get more cash out of the slot and use an inside trouser cloth money bag, but make sure you keep 50 bucks or so in your normal pockets. Don't know where you're going but 50 is enough for most muggers, if you should be unlucky enough to have that happen to you.

I think you are on the right track. Take all of the above. Cash for exchange you will need travel ,fees and pocket incidentals. Exchange at the hotel or at a local bank. There are exchange centers everywhere just be careful of the rate. Credit or debit cards allow for less confusion because all of the conversions are automatically done for you. Travelers checks for large sums of money you may need later and always wear a money belt or some sort of body purse for you important papers, passport, plane ticket etc. No worries enjoy your trip.

11 years ago, I began using my ATM card exclusively since I don't travel to many out-of-the-way places. Even small villages (like in the US) have ATMs and you will get the international banker's exchange rate which is more favorable than any currency exchange. A few important points, though: make sure your cash is in your checking acct, not savings, since some foreign ATMs don't give you an option, and ask your bank to increase your daily withdrawal limit when you notify them of your travel plans (so they don't suspect fraud). Frequent small withdrawals are good, and we carry money belts.

It's better to take Travelers Cheques because if they get lost or stolen you can replace that money. Also carry them in a money belt along with your important personal papers such as pasport and plane tickets

I have been in a number of foreign countries, always used traveler's checks, never had a problem. If you live there a while get an account in a local bank.

I actual have stopped gazing & listening to the handfuls of press conferences & speeches made by utilising the McCann camp. i come across it very unsettling that they've, neither of them, shown any emotion over their daughters disappearance. Their appearances have carried out not something to help them win over the sympathy of the regularly occurring public. while Sarah Payne disappeared her father and mom regarded on television yet have been of course distraught & yet nonetheless controlled to maintain a dignity whuch absolutely everyone trendy them for. The McCanns have carried out the contrary. i don't think of she will have the skill to be discovered alive after all this time yet i believe the money raised could have been extra appropriate in a fund administered by utilising somebody not affiliated with the kin. the regularly occurring public have a appropriate to understand how their money is being spent.

Deposit it in a bank that has branches in the country you are going to or can make it accessible via a cash machine in that country.
