Well first you have to set out a few guidelines. There never is the "right diet" as each person's body composition is completely different. The key to loosing weight successfully is to know your body and weight.
For start you need to determine the length of time you have to loose the weight you want to loose. If your only looking at loosing inches and not lbs it is always a matter of toning and exercise not just diet.
Stop snacking in between meals. That plus setting yourself an eating curfew can make a huge differense and exercise 3 times a week for an hour that will increase your metabolism.
Now back to the eating curfew. This means to have an eating shut off time daily where no matter what you will not eat past that time. Your body needs time to always digest its food prior to sleeping. So you need about 2 hours before you go to bed so if you sleep at 10 you should not eat past 8.
Remember to eat lighter dinners and cut out unwanted foods such as sweets. If you must eat them do it during the day. No more late time ice cream eat it during the day, even eat things you digest more quickly like less carbs and higher protein, trust me this works and I know it. I went from a larger size down to an 8 so it can be done! Streamlining your diet is better then cutting something off...I would only use half the butter or none if I didn't need it. That helped me out so much I looked fantastic for my wedding day!. Good luck and keep us posted.

Try a week of clear fluids and eating nothing but fruit and veg. You can roast them for an evening meal. You also need to do some daily excersise.

Any diet works, without cutting out carbs, but i am sure you already know that. If you stick to it then it works, and exercise of course.

It's surprisingly easy if you know what to do.
Just cut down your calorie intake, eat sensibly, and my favourite rule, don't cut out anything that you like that's 'naughty' just have it in moderation. You'd be surprised how effective it is. i've lost 16lbs in the last 2 months just doing that!
