Talk to all the different recruiters, see what you like and don't like. Are you a senior in high school? If not you are going to have to wait, they won't talk to you until senior year (to much time to change your mind, may not graduate). To be a pilot you need to be an officer, so you will have to go to college first. There is a big difference from aviation and being a pilot. I was aviation ordnance (putting bombs on planes), and it was nothing like being a pilot. Marines have functions every month for people who have enlisted and are waiting to go to boot camp, see if you can attend one and see what it is all about. Good luck.
One reply was if you are strong enough go firefighter...just so you know I thought I was enlisting for aircraft firefighting and got ordnance they are the same code, aviation support. So if you decide to go make sure you know exactly what you are signing up for. And trust me if you sign up and you arent' strong enough don't worry you will be. Have you ever lifted a 500 lb bomb with 3 other people me neither, but I had to. I wasn't strong enough at first but I got there.

Unless you like the idea of ending up a soldier in Iraq like so many others in the national guard and reserves, go navy. Or, for a completely different thought, consider the peace corp. Both can be as physically challenging as you want.

Probably Army Reserves. You'll be serving your country, getting the physical challenges that you are looking for, and by doing reserves, you can still have some of your civilian life left. :) My boyfriend is active duty Marine Corp and he says the Army will listen to girls more than the Marine Corp would. Marine Corp is all suck it up and take it! ;) Good luck though. I'm proud of you for even considering the military. Don't let anyone discourage you k? :)

I was a Marine and I loved it. But I tell every young person in your position to speak with all of the recruiters and find out which branch of the service. The Navy actually offered me a better deal but I had a preconceived notion about which service to join. Either way you will enjoy any branch of the service.

There are best four branches of the navy: Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines (five if you happen to depend the Coast Guard). Each department can have it is specified facets. So, you will not cross unsuitable with both the Army or the Marines.

Navy! If you join the Army or Marines you have the risk of being in a battlefied. In the Navy, you have the guarantee of sleeping in an actual bed every night and eating three good meals a day; whereas, the Army or Marines you may have to sleep in a fox hole and eat an MRE. You decide!

Go reserve instead of national guard, the benefits are better and you won't be treated like the Army's red headed stepchild. As for what MOS...if you're strong enough go firefighter.

Air Force, Air National Guard. They treat women much better. You will be alot happier, and possibly have shorter deployments.

I'm in the Army Reserves, and I think it'd be best for someone like you to go into the Navy.

Navy...with the war on, if you do get called to active duty it is safer. And you are still serving your country.
