Deuteronomy 18:9 - 18:13 (New International Version)

Detestable Practices
9 When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. 10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in [a] the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. 13 You must be blameless before the LORD your God.

It should be remembered that our generation is the furthest removed from the perfecton of the Garden Of Eden. Further, the "New Testament" ("Greek Scriptures") tells us that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.

Yet, there is something nobody can force someone else to do. Nobody can force someone to care. Governments, police, etc. can force someone to submit to authority, and arrest them if they don't, but no power on earth can make a person care about something.

Those who practice such things (divination, magic, etc.) don't care if it offends God -- probably most don't believe in him anyway.

However, I tell you this: At the instant of death, nothing matters but religion, whether a person cared about it in life or not. The reason is that no government, no country, no authority can offer life after this one (good or bad life). Only religion can do that. For those who choose to ignore it, well, they will face the consequences. As for religion itself, there a many throughout the world, but only truth will endure in the end. Pleasing the One who can offer life seems to be a natural course to take, but it isn't the way of most of the world.

As for me, I don't watch or practice anything involving magic, sorcery, demonism, and so forth. I don't want anything to do with it. That even includes demonistic, magical TV shows. However, I speak only for myself in this. Each has to make up his/her own mind.

I can help you to develop psychic ability.

Slow your mind. Modern life tends to wind us up; literally speeding up our brainwave frequency. Normal daily, wide-awake, states of consciousness are Beta frequency 14 up to 20+ cycles per second. Beta level brainwave activity is too fast to allow psychic connections. Beta brain is a busy brain so the practices of meditation and relaxation methods you are comfortable with are the first steps to develop psychic ability. Religion was only invented to control the people. The elite who wrote the bible made sure to prohibit all other forms of belief and supernatural practice so that everyone would follow the religion they were inventing for them.

So naturally, the inventors defamed any preexisting belief systems.

Bible is not the Absolute Truth in the Universe

Yep. There were a lot of nasty practices back then. God wanted to separate the nation of Israel from the wicked nations. He also wanted to make clear those practices that would set them apart from Him.

Today, I think there's far less danger of "spiritual evil", except in those practices that set people apart from God. Checking our horoscope in the paper is amusing, but a little misleading in terms of real advice (for example). If a person lived their life by their horoscope, they're definitely setting themselves apart from God (self delusion).

People who claim to be "witches" or "wiccans" or even praciticioners of magic are really TRULY deluding themselves. Studying the history and customs of druids and wiccans is interesting, but centering your life around such things? Definitely not a Godly way of life.

In short, I don't think God is going to blast such people with lightning, (New Covenant, you know) but He is shaking His head in sadness as people delude themselves away from Him.

I suppose it's all a matter of whether or not you believe in the biblical God. Does the Lord not also preach not to judge??

Don't think so. Especially if a plethora of the people in the bible ascribe to the characteristics above mentioned.

Did you know that your post is not really a question, but merely a religious foaming-at-the-mouth rant? You should give yourself some time to decompress before you turn on your computer after a steamy Sunday at church.

Did you know that they really are not evil?

Killing people I will accept as evil.

Harming children and raping people I will also define as evil.

Trying to divine the future and worshiping nature.............I don't believe in it but by NO stretch of the imagination can I understand it as evil.
