Totally normal. Just explain to him that it isn't proper to do that in front of people. If you don't make a big deal out of it, it won't be a problem. My son did the same exact thing, this is how I handled it. After a couple of reminders he got the idea.

This is just normal behavior. My little girl between ages 3 and 4 would rub herself a lot. All their other body parts are easily accessible, and they are just curious. What my Dr suggested was to tell that was private and she can do it in her room, but not with the family while watching a movie, etc. There were times I told her that and she went to her room! She is 4.5 now and is doing it less.
My 2 yr old son grabs and pulls on himself whenever the opportunity presents. I think they are just curious. And it probably feels good too.

Yelling begets extra yelling. you will get extra reaction from whispering to them. They respond to diversion superb at that age. In different words say ' seem Derek, there's a chook outdoors' and take him by potential of the hand to the window. something that distracts from the situation handy. At 4 yrs you wont be waiting to distract as easily; yet now it works. the toddlers you have are in simple terms toddlers and prefer gentleness. So attempt to not use unfavorable sentences like ' Dont try this' yet extremely exchange their subject by potential of being constructive and asserting ' Oh we could circulate do alphabet letters'. In different words, drop the concentration on what they did and circulate on. it rather is advisable to envision a baby progression e book so which you realize their capacities. a solid one is Giselle Institute. you have an exceptionally considerable activity-and likewise the main perplexing one.

Hi there,
I wouldn't worry about it, most if not all kids go through the stage where they start to explore their own bodies. This is very normal and will wear off after a while as long as you don't make too much of a fuss about it. In the meantime there is not really much you can do about it I'm afraid.
Hope this helps.

Yes I can see y that would be embarrassing but if you just found something on your body wouldn't you be curious as to what it was?! I know I would & this is what your son is doing.
A funny story (some people may not find it funny but I did) I was out of the room for a minute, came back in & my 9 month old twins were on the floor (boy & girl), my 2 yr old daughter had whipped off her brothers nappy & was playing with his willy. I couldn't help but wet myself with laughter. Similar thing here, she was just curious about it as she hasn't got one & her sister doesn't have one either!

Totally normal but completely understand that it's embarrassing. Just make sure he's got proper trousers on when other people are around so he doesn't have "access." I wouldn't worry about him becoming a pervert or anything. Here is a really smart article from a pediatrician about the topic that might make you feel better!

This is normal for all kids this age. They are just starting to feel sensation in that part of the body, and touching feels good to him. Some children also will do this if they are bored and have nothing to occupy themselves with. Whenever you catch him doing this just remind him that " ...we don't play with our private parts..." and then give him something else to have in his hand. Give him a toy to hold, or a wash cloth if you are in the bath, or move him to a new activity if he is anywhere else.

At a certain age (I think around that age) boys are starting to learn themselves.
When he is in the tub you can just say "Yes, that's your pee-pee" and gradually stop him from doing it by saying telling him (very calmly) "Don't do that, you can hurt yourself" or something like that. lol
He has no clue what he is doing, he is just realizing that "it feels funny" when he touch himself. If you let him continue he will think it's okay and start doing it more in public. On the other hand, it you make a huge deal (to him) over it he will think he is doing something really bad. So, calmly tell him when he does it "that's a no, no".

Don't be embarrassed. It is totally normal. My step son discovered it when he was 2 and just wearing underwear. He would start crying because he didn't like the way it felt when- well you know. I had to laugh. He isn't getting anything out of it like a man would- just a different feeling. Just reminde him to get his hands out of there. My son is 6 and I still have to reminde him. I tell my son that it is gross to touch where your pee pee comes out- not in the sexual sense just hygiene.

My son has had his hand on his "you know what" since he took his first breath. He is 8 now. Dont worry he's fine. I just constantly have to remind him to "let go of it" it wont fall off . haha Most of the time , I think he doesnt even realize he is doing it. I have a 1 year old little girl and as soon as her diaper is off her hand go straight to "there". Its very normal. Just remind him.
