if it really bothers you...no harm will be done if you shave your legs. Make sure you use a good shaving cream, and a clean razor...also, Nair and the like works excellent!!..be careful when shaving tho..take your time..your legs should be wet before hand..(in the tub works best). Talk to your mom and explain to her how much it bothers you, and ask her to help you pick out good quality shaving stuff. I can understand how it would make you feel self conscience.( and also can be pointed out to be teased about by othwers...kids do that..i know) Your at an age where changes make a big difference.. This is something that is easily fixed. I hope she lets you shave!!!

Your daughter should be like quite a few different females her age. Many are shaving and wearing bras earlier they extremely choose too. Being the nice and cozy temperature season is on us now, the females will be wearing shorts and tank tops. it could be form of embarrassing if someone teased her about the hair below her fingers. some females which have darkish hair have a tendency to expose the hair on their legs better so. As toddlers bypass into puberty, body hair begins to boost better than ever. At her age, she'll probable shave once a week or a lot less.

I had this same problem at 10, as did my step daughter. Please try to talk to your mom about how you feel. I know having hairy legs is super embarrasing, especially if the kids at school make fun of you.

There are other options besides regular razors these days, if your mom is worried you'll cut yourself. Veet makes a bladeless razor where all you do is spray this foam on your legs and scrape it off with a rubber "razor". The only thing you would need to worry about is your skin having a reaction to the foam (test a small area of your skin first before doing the whole leg).

Anyway, tell her about Veet. My step daughter (now 11) loves it. Kids are growing up faster and going through puberty faster these days. So it makes sense that they may need to start shaving earlier than their parents.

I think there is no set age when you should start shaving. If you are self-conscious about it, ask your mom. After all the worst thing that could happen is she says no. It's worth a shot.

Once you start shaving your hair will look blacker and thicker. Enjoy not having to shave. It is no fun. But if it bothering you that much then sit your mom down and have a heart to heart with her and tell her your feelings.

No huny...dont..i'm 27 year old who started shaving early..just makes the problem worse..if I could go back....I'll rather use bleach the first few yrs and then go straight to wax....i also recommended the same to my niece and it functions for her.

and one more thing....darling try to stay a child as long as you can...you'll miss it too soon...believe me

Personally, I myself wouldn't ask my mom. I don't think that shaving at that age is not a big deal.....
