I love my cat Lucy, but she has a pretty gross coat. She sheds a TON and has dandruff. Her fur feels kind of greasy. Other than her coat, she is healthy. What can I do?

Cats with skin and coat issues, excessive shedding, etc. are not healthy. Those are signs something inside is not as it should be.

You must seriously look at what you are putting INTO the cat to have any effect on these outside issues.

There are many excellent foods now on the market for cats. I am in the process of doing a lot of price comparisons and coming up with the fact that premium foods cost maybe 50 cents more a bag than grocery store crap. If your cat ate 4 bags a month than would mean two more dollars a month for its food. Even higher priced ones (that was Natural Balance at $1.66 a pound more than 9 Lives or Meow Mix.) probably wouldn't run more than $5 to $6 a month. Science Diet has the same awful ingredients as the Meow Mix and 9 Lives and it sells for $2.09 a pound! So far CA Natural is the highest in price (I use that for some of my cats) at $2.40 a pound.

It will make all the difference in the world to clear up the shedding, dandruff and greasy fur problems and your cat will be healthier INSIDE as well as out.

For a "recipe" about switching dry foods please click on my name at the icon. It is important that you introduce a new food gradually. Cats will turn their noses up at anything they are not used to eating.

What kind of food are you feeding her. A poor diet will cause the coat to become greasy and flaky. DO NOT FEED YOUR CAT OR ANY ANIMAL CHEAP FOOD. Mainstay or cheap brands like it are absolute garbage. Go to the pet store or even the vet and pick up Nutro Max Cat or a higher quality food like it. Though you will pay more for a bag of food, the animal will not need to eat as much because it will get the nutrients it needs in a smaller amount of food. Good Luck! I hope this helps.

Oh, yeah. Sure, a trojan horse is rather like a puppy or cat.... Dogs and cats are domesticated animals that we've got in our houses as adored pets. Bugs don't have any character and do not need the ability to care approximately folks in any respect. They are 2 absolutely exclusive matters. If your factor is that it is alright to kill insects, however no better animals in any respect, eg. sheep, farm animals, and so on. for consuming, then I nonetheless disagree. Unless you're a vegetarian who makes use of NO animal merchandise of any variety, you're in no function to mention all animals are the equal and valuable of residing. If you consume meat or use any animal product, you're no higher than the individual who kills the animal you consume. It's simply that anybody else does the killing. Personally, that's now not an predicament for me, as I do not fake that each and every animal is the equal and demands to are living. I do not cross out of my technique to kill insects, however I might surely be extra disillusioned if I by chance ran over a puppy than if I squashed a trojan horse.

Perhaps she just needs a little bit of help taking care of herself =)

Some cats just "have" greasy hair... I'm not sure if that's an indication that she's not able to care for herself completely or .... just her hair type but... you could call your vet and see if they have any shampoo's that will help with that problem. I wouldn't expect it to be too expensive.

=) Best of luck!
