I understand that they have to live in celibacy so they cannot have relationships, but can they fall in love? If love happens accidentally or it develops from friendship or if there is love on a first sight so they can fall in love. It must be impossibly hard to live with sth like that?

Yes it must be very difficult indeed. Which is why a priest is obligated to avoid situations which might result in such a relationship forming. In the same way, a married person is obligated to avoid such situations. Yet either a priest or a married person could fall in love with someone. In either case they are morally bound to live as though such a love relationship did not exist.

Yeah, I really feel sorry for these people.

The whole celibacy thing is a church law, not a commandment from God. God would rather you fall in love and raise a nice family. The whole celibacy thing was a tax dodge from the dark ages. You see, back then the priests owned their temples, and if the priest had a son, he would inherit it instead of being handed to the next priest. And if the son not a priest, well the Church just turned into a Tavern. So you can see where that archaic law came from.

I really wish they'd change that. They have no problem rewriting anything thing else in the bible to suit their purposes.

All human beings have the same basic instincts and urges within themselves...why would priests be any different? The celibacy is a religious choice!

Priest do fall in love, and they do "beget" children though, that of course is done secretly, sometimes hypocritically and always with dire consequences. The Church nowadays finds it very hard to get new members (for obvious reasons) and these old men are going nowhere.

They are people like anyone else. and of course they can fall in love and it is hard for them. Some of course leave the church or stop being a priest because of it.

Yeah... they have a thing for alter boys. It's really disgusting. That's why they need to ease up on the celibacy thing. I mean they can drink alcoholic beverages but cannot have casual sex with a woman? If I were a priest, I would have sex with a woman anyway and then forgive myself afterward.

Yes. In fact, one old church of mine lost one of the priests. He left the priesthood to marry a woman he fell in love with. They would not have met if he hadn't been a priest, and he felt that God wanted him to meet this woman. Last I heard, they were happily married. It's not a sin to fall in love. It's a sin to take a vow of celebracy and then have sex. Some priests do leave the priesthood to marry.

Yes, I'm sure they do sometimes!

They are human beings, just like you and I, and are not above falling in love. They have taken "vows", so therefore, they must, make peace with their decision, to either stay in the church and continue with their ministry, or leave to continue down the "garden path".

A hard decision indeed, but, they are forced to make it!!

That is why Scripture teaches the exact opposite of the Catholic Church. "If any man seek the office of bishop, let him be the husband of one wife" It also boldly proclaims that Peter was not the first pope for he was married. God created man and woman to be one in marriage and it is also the biblical qualification of a pastor or priest if you'd like to use that term.

Yes they do, some priest scandalise the church, infact not even falling in love but some of them are pimps, they know they can fall in love for obvious reasons but the feed their ego on the innocent followers, some do that in the name of wanting to pray for the youth or advising them.....But mark this, Good priest fall in love like christ did, they never wish to have sex with anybody - they believe in family of one and brotherhood of all. to them all girls are thir sister, now you see what i mean, you can love your sister but can't freak with her.
