I agree that that thought process brought about animism. "God is in everything, so worship it all." So, why not have a different god for each thing?

God is everywhere, but worshiping a rock or an animal is not the same as worshiping God. If you do, you will pay the price. I pray that you will stop this blasphemy and repent. May God have mercy on your very troubled soul.

The belief that God is "in" everything, or worse, that God "is" everything is the heresy of Pantheism. Saying that God is "in" a rock goes beyond saying that God is "everywhere". It is quite sufficient to say that God is present where that rock is present, whether in your back yard, or on top of a mountain, at the bottom of the sea, or on Jupiter. That is omnipresence without Pantheism.

As others have said, God is not a Rock. You are suppose to stand on the Rock which is Christ Jesus, the Rock of Salvation. Ever hear about building your house on the Rock so it will not wash away? Its in the New Testament in very simple terms. Not meaning to be rude, just trying to make you understand, thats all.

God is the Creator, not the creature. You worship Him alone. What can a rock for you or to you. But God can give you eternal life.

well if you are worshiping the rock becuase it is a rock is false becase the rock is not perfect. however if you were to behold the rock as one of gods creations there is nothing wrong with that.
God is present in the rock but you must be worshiping god not the rock.

To limit it to just a rock can be dangerous. To limit it is to be able to apply your own preconceptions to divinity. It is when you learn to see the divinity within yourself and all things that you truly start to comprehend spiritual Truth.
He who experiences the unity of life sees his own Self in all beings, and all beings in his own Self, and looks on everything with an impartial eye.
Buddha
Note: I am not Buddhist but the Buddha, like all true spiritual masters, have said these things better than I can.

Personally, I don't believe that God is omnipresent. We are alone here, with only ourselves to pull us through. Hopefully, my life has some meaning in the grand scheme of things. Whatever happens, I have only myself to thank or blame.

God has identified Jesus as our intercessor and Him alone, we come to God through Jesus or not at all. Not by rocks, not by other humans, trees, plants, graven images, idols etc. etc. etc.
